Direct-to-home provider Tata Play (earlier Tata Sky) has announced a new platform service, Tata Play Asomiya Monoronjan in partnership with ReelDrama to offer a selection of Assamese content for television viewers. This partnership marks the first collaboration with an OTT platform to deliver content for TV audiences thereby paving the way for OTT partners to explore the world of linear TV viewing, the company said in a statement. Tata Play Asomiya Monoronjan is a platform for Assamese entertainment on television which will offer latest Assamese movies, original shows, specials like mobile theatres, songs, masterclasses on acting and music along with devotional content.

ZEE5, the video-streaming platform owned by Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd has announced a Telugu sitcom Maya Bazaar for Sale in association with Rana Daggubati’s Spirit Media. The family drama scripted and directed by Gautami Challagulla and produced by Rajeev Ranjan will premiere on 14 July. The seven-episodic series features an ensemble cast comprising Navdeep Pallapolu, Eesha Rebba, Naresh Vijaya Krishna, Hari Teja, Jhansi Laxmi, Meiyang Chang, Sunaina and Kota Srinivas Rao among others.

Threads, the social media giant's new Twitter competitor, within a mere four hours of its launch. During the much-anticipated debut of his new app, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, known by his handle "Zuck," took to the platform with a flurry of posts and replies while simultaneously announcing the staggering achievement of over five million user registrations for Threads, Meta's Twitter rival, within just four hours. "Just passed 5 million sign ups in the first four hours," wrote the Meta CEO.

ChatGPT, the highly popular AI chatbot introduced in November, experienced a decline in its website's monthly traffic and unique visitors for the first time in June, as reported by Similarweb, an analytics firm. Globally, the desktop and mobile traffic to the ChatGPT website witnessed a decrease of 9.7 per cent in June compared to May, while the number of unique visitors to the website dropped by 5.7 per cent. Additionally, the data reveals that visitors spent 8.5 per cent less time on the website.
