The claim made dates back to an incident eight years ago.

The G20 working group meetings have made substantial progress in their mission to prioritize culture in policymaking, moving from identifying and deliberating on four key priorities to seeking consensus on action-oriented recommendations, Union minister Pralhad Joshi said on Monday. The four priorities set for the G20 Culture Working Group meeting are -- protection and restitution of cultural property; harnessing living heritage for a sustainable future; promotion of cultural and creative industries and creative economy; and leveraging digital technologies for the protection and promotion of culture.

Last week China announced export curbs from August on gallium and germanium in retaliation to the US barring the export of high-end microprocessors and chipmaking equipment to China. earnings of PVR Inox are expected to disappoint due to continued weak performance of Bollywood movies.  According to a report by Prabhudas Lilladher, national box office revenues for Bollywood productions, including Hindi-dubbed films, saw a 20% sequential decline in Q1FY24 and a 28% year-on-year (YoY) drop. “We expect PVR-Inox to report footfalls of 33 million with pre Ind-AS Ebitda (earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation) margin of 5.8%.

European Central Bank is nearly finished raising interest rates, but will then keep them at a «high plateau» to ensure they fully impact the economy, Governing Council member Francois Villeroy de Galhau said. The ECB's record cycle of tightening will bring inflation toward its target of 2% by 2025, the Bank of France governor said. Price growth in France has already passed its peak, slowing to 5.3% from above 7% earlier this year, he added.

NEW DELHI : Commerce minister Piyush Goyal is set to visit the UK on Monday as the two countries move closer to signing a free trade agreement. The visit follows convergence on several contentious issues such as market access for British automobiles and Scotch whisky.

New Delhi: In a bid to boost captive power generation and streamline the norms, the union ministry of power has amended the regulations saying that a captive power user, must hold a minimum of 26% stake in the captive generating plant. According to the new norms, each captive power user, even in a group captive structure has to hold 26% ownership in the captive generating plant.

Piyush Goyal will visit the UK on July 10-11 to take stock of the negotiations for a free trade agreement (FTA) and review the progress of the talks for a similar pact with the European Free Trade Association (EFTA), the government said Sunday. “The minister’s visit will not only be focused on the ongoing FTA negotiations between India and the UK but he will also be meeting with ministers from the EFTA member countries to discuss the progress of the Trade and Economic Partnership Agreement (TEPA) with EFTA,” the commerce and industry ministry said in a statement.
