Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) will soon transfer its Small Satellite Launch Vehicle (SSLV) to the private sector, after conducting two development flights of the rocket that seeks to provide on-demand services to put satellites weighing up to 500 kg in a low-earth orbit. The space agency has decided to opt for the bidding route to transfer the mini-rocket to the industry, a senior official said. «We will be transferring the SSLV completely to the private sector.

Development Monitoring and Evaluation Office (DMEO), an attached office of NITI Aayog, will evaluate the regional connectivity scheme popularly known as UDAN. The monitoring body has issued an RfP for evaluation of the scheme which is expected to kick-start later this year. UDAN is the government’s regional airport development program and part of the Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS) of upgrading under-serviced air routes.

New Delhi: In a bid to boost captive power generation and streamline the norms, the union ministry of power has amended the regulations saying that a captive power user, must hold a minimum of 26% stake in the captive generating plant. According to the new norms, each captive power user, even in a group captive structure has to hold 26% ownership in the captive generating plant.

BBC suspends presenter over explicit photos claims.  The Sun newspaper, which first reported the claims, cited the young person's mother as saying that a BBC star paid her child over £35,000 ($45,000) for the images over a three-year period. According to The Sun article, the young person was 17 when the payments from the presenter started.

At least nine people were reported injured after a suspect opened fire toward a group of people in Downtown Cleveland early Sunday morning, CNN reported quoting Cleveland police. Cleveland Cleveland spokesperson Jennifer Ciaccia said, “No deaths have been reported."  “Preliminary information indicates that a suspect opened fire toward a group of people and then fled the scene," CNN cited the Cleveland police statement. Cleveland Police said there are no arrests in this shooting, and investigators currently are reviewing evidence while interviewing victims, news portal 19 News reported.

Piyush Goyal will visit the UK on July 10-11 to take stock of the negotiations for a free trade agreement (FTA) and review the progress of the talks for a similar pact with the European Free Trade Association (EFTA), the government said Sunday. “The minister’s visit will not only be focused on the ongoing FTA negotiations between India and the UK but he will also be meeting with ministers from the EFTA member countries to discuss the progress of the Trade and Economic Partnership Agreement (TEPA) with EFTA,” the commerce and industry ministry said in a statement.

BJP in West Bengal on Sunday alleged that the central forces were not deployed «deliberately» during the panchayat elections, inviting a sharp retort from the ruling TMC which said there was no guarantee that violence would not have happened if the forces were deployed. BJP national vice president Dilip Ghosh said if the central forces were deployed in sensitive places, there would not have been so much violence, and people could have exercised their franchise freely and without fear. «The central forces were not deployed in sensitive areas deliberately,» he said. Ghosh alleged that instead of deploying the forces in the polling booths, they were made to patrol highways or were kept at police stations. «Even where they were deployed, that was done only after the violence and looting of votes,» he claimed. «They were ordered to be deployed in all booths by the Calcutta High Court, but that was not done,» he said.

BBC presenter is facing allegations of inappropriate conduct, with reports suggesting that explicit photos were purchased for £35,000 over a three-year period. The Sun first reported these allegations on Friday, revealing that the payments allegedly began when the individual involved was 17 years old. The mother of the young person involved disclosed to The Sun that her child, now 20 years old, used the money received from the presenter to support a crack cocaine addiction. Expressing grave concern, she warned that her child's life may be at risk if the alleged payments were to continue.
