JSW Energy will remain in focus on Thursday, March 13, after the company’s subsidiary JSW Neo Energy has entered into a share purchase agreement (SPA) for a 100% stake acquisition of Virya Infrapower Private Limited. Post this acquisition, Virya Infrapower will become a step-down subsidiary of the company.

Indian bond market has been in focus over the past few months as the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) implemented key liquidity measures and rate cuts to support economic growth. Infosys cofounder Nandan Nilekani predicts that India will have one million startups by 2035. He said that there are 150,000 startups today growing at a compound annual growth rate of 20%. Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) to set a deadline for completing the process and introducing the Broadcasting Services Regulation Bill in Parliament at the earliest opportunity. The committee made this recommendation in a draft action-taken report on its observations and recommendations from the 56th report on the regulation of cable television in India, which was tabled in Parliament on Tuesday. The second draft of the Broadcast Bill, introduced in July, was withdrawn in August last year following backlash from media industry stakeholders over the lack of transparency in consultations, which were held with only a select group. Another major concern of the industry was that the Bill contained vague terms that could potentially grant arbitrary powers to government officials. In its response to the committee on 17 January, the MIB stated that a fresh draft of the Bill would be published after detailed consultations.

Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has asked the IndusInd Bank board to propose names of two external candidates for the positions of Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating officer, according to sources familiar with the matter. This development comes after the banking regulator last week approved a one-year extension for Sumant Kathpalia’s reappointment as CEO. Kathpalia’s term, originally set to end on March 24, 2025, will now conclude on March 23, 2026. RBI & IndusInd Bank did not respond to an email query seeking clarification.

The decision was made at the board meeting held on March 10, 2025. «The Board of Directors of the Company, at their meeting held on Monday, 10th March 2025, has, inter alia, considered and in-principally approved the borrowing of External Commercial Borrowing within an overall ceiling of Japanese Yen equivalent to $200 million, with an equivalent green shoe option,» NLC India stated in an exchange filing.
