NTPC on Saturday reported a 38% year-on-year jump in consolidated net profit to Rs 4,726.40 crore for the quarter ended September 2023, up from Rs 3,417.67 crore in the year-ago period. However, it was down 3.6% sequentially. The company had reported a consolidated profit after tax of Rs 4,907.13 crore in the June-ended quarter. The consolidated revenue from operations for the said period stood at Rs 44,983.35 crore, which was up 1.8% from Rs 44,175.03 crore reported by the power company in the year-ago period.

Maharashtra education department has announced that students suffering from type-1 diabetes in grades I to XII will now be allowed to consume snacks and take medication in the classroom and during examinations. This decision comes after the education department included these students in the special needs (disabled) category. According to a communication from the education department, students using Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM), Flash Glucose Monitoring (FGM), and/or insulin pumps should be permitted to have these devices with them during exams.

Yes Bank has acquired additional shares in J.C. Flowers Asset Reconstruction (JC Flowers ARC) to reinstate the bank’s stake to 9.9% in the company, the private lender informed in its filing to the exchanges in the wee hours on Saturday. On November 28, 2022, the bank had acquired 9.9% of the equity share capital of JC Flower ARC, which fell to 5.01% as a result of certain corporate actions in JC Flowers ARC, the filing said. «In accordance with a share subscription and purchase agreement, the bank has now acquired additional shares in JC Flowers ARC so as to reinstate the bank’s stake to 9.9%,» the exchange filing said. Shares of Yes Bank ended at Rs 16 on the NSE up 0.63% on Friday. YES Bank reported a 47.4% year-on-year (YoY) growth in net profit for the quarter ended September to Rs 225 crore.
