Biden-Harris administration pressured Meta to censor Covid content, Zuckerberg tells House Committee
Meta Chief Executive Officer Mark Zuckerberg, in a letter to the House Judiciary Committee has alleged that the Biden-Harris administration «repeatedly pressurised» Meta's teams to censor posts related to Covid. He further said that the platform had to make some changes, that «with the benefit of hindsight and new information,» they won't make today. Zuckerberg also said he 'regrets' not being «more outspoken» about it. «In 2021, senior officials from the Biden Administration, including the White House, repeatedly pressured our teams for months to censor certain COVID-19 content, including humor and satire, and expressed a lot of frustration with our teams when we didn't agree. Ultimately, it was our decision whether or not to take content down, and we own our decisions, including COVID-19-related changes we made to our enforcement in the wake of this pressure,» Zuckerberg said in the letter.

Jammu and Kashmir Assembly polls: Thankful to Home Minister Amit Shah for talking about NC's manifesto, says Omar Abdullah
Omar Abdullah Sunday said he was thankful to Union Home Minister Amit Shah for noticing his party's election manifesto. People who were not ready to read it, have now been compelled to go through it now, Abdullah added. «I am thankful to the home minister from the core of my heart for talking about our manifesto. For a small party, contesting an election in a far-flung area of the country, it is a huge thing that the country's home minister has seen our manifesto,'' Abdullah told reporters here after a party function. Shah on Friday slammed the Congress for its alliance with the NC for the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly polls, accusing the party of repeatedly risking the country's unity and security in its „greed for power“.

Sun shines on Premier Energies; govt’s renewables push can make it brighter
Premier Energies, a manufacturer of solar cells and modules, aims to raise ₹2,830 crore through an initial public offering (IPO) that is set to open on August 27. Of this, ₹1,291 crore will be generated from a fresh issue of shares, which will be used for capacity expansion. The remaining will come from an offer for sale by the promoter and private equity investors. After the proposed IPO, the promoter's stake in the Hyderabad-based company will decrease to 66% from 72%. The company's earnings are expected to benefit from the government's push to increase the share of renewable energy in the installed energy capacity, which is projected to reach 500 GW by 2030 from 172 GW now. A significant contribution is anticipated from solar power. India's installed solar capacity has grown nearly fourfold in the last six years and is expected to reach nearly 200 GW by FY28.
