Reliance retail opened 1,840 new stores in FY24 even as it signed a host of deals with global companies, the conglomerate revealed in its annual report on Wednesday. The retail business of the oil-to-retail conglomerate registered an EBITDA of Rs 23,802, in FY24, recording a growth of 28.4% YoY. «The registered customer base crossed a milestone of 300 million, making Reliance Retail one of the most preferred retailers in the country,» the annual report stated. Further, the conglomerate said that the Retail division is set to broaden its offerings.

Eicher Motors is expected to report a net profit for the quarter ended June 30, 2024 in the range of Rs 943 crore — Rs 1,034 crore, according to estimates by four brokerages. The growth in profit after tax (PAT) could be between 2.7% and 13% on the year-on-year basis, the estimates said. Revenue for the reported quarter may be at Rs 4,178 crore — Rs 4,273 crore which translates into an uptick of up to 7.2%. The earning estimates have been given by Kotak Institutional Equities, Nuvama Institutional Equities, Yes Securities and Axis Securities.

Vinesh Phogat has been hospitalised in Paris due to dehydration, TV reports said. As per a report by India Today, Phogat, who was going to compete for a gold medal in wrestling later today, is being administered with IV fluids. The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) announced that Vinesh Phogat has been disqualified from the Women’s Wrestling 50kg class.

Yediyurappa had recently demanded that Siddaramaiah has to resign before the BJP-JD(S)' protest march from Bengaluru against the MUDA site allotment 'scam' reaches Mysuru. The week-long Bengaluru-Mysuru padayatre (foot march) has sought to highlight the alleged fraudulent allotment of sites to land losers by MUDA, including to Siddaramaiah's wife Parvathi. «Yediyurappa has been accused in a POCSO case, chargesheet has been filed. Because of the court's mercy he is outside and not in jail. One cannot get bail in such cases,» Siddaramaiah said. Addressing reporters here, he said, «What moral right does Yediyurappa have? At this age he is caught in a POCSO case...He should retire from public life. At 81 years of age he is accused of sexually assaulting a girl and is caught in a POCSO case… First let him retire from public life. There should be truth (in allegations against me) to seek my resignation.»
