Narayanpur Superintendent of Police (SP) Prabhat Kumar, intermittent firing was ongoing at the time of reporting.Seven Naxalites in “Maoist uniform" have been gunned down in the exchange of fire so far, said the SP.Superintendent of Police Prabhat Kumar stated that the operation, comprising members from the District Reserve Guard of Dantewada, Narayanpur, and Bastar districts, along with the Bastar Fighters and Special Task Force, all units of the state police, was initiated following intelligence indicating the presence of cadres from the Maoists' Indravati Area Committee and Platoon No. 16.Altogether, seven firearms have been recovered from the encounter site, he said.This incident brings the total number of Naxalites killed in separate encounters with security forces in the state to 112 so far this year.In an encounter that took place on April 30, security forces engaged and eliminated ten Naxalites, among them three women, in a forest situated along the Narayanpur and Kanker districts' border.

RBI dividend boost to help in improving budget math

To be sure, the fiscal deficit as a share of GDP would also depend on the economic growth rate and the inflation trend, in addition to adjustments to spending and changes in receipts.The latest dividend payout from the RBI will be instrumental in compensating for any slippages in tax revenue or increased public spending in FY25, and ensure fiscal deficit reduction is in sync with the committed glide path of 4.5% by FY26, experts said.

This strategic direction reflects a commitment to meeting the evolving demands of the market and the infusion of fresh talent,» Genius Consultants CMD R P Yadav told PTI.

India's peak demand hits 235 GW, power generation up 10% in April
NEW DELHI:India's power generation increased 9.69% to 153.77 billion units (BU) in April but fell short of target as temperatures soared to their highest in more than a century.Although the generation was higher on year, it fell short of the target of 161.71 million units, showed the CEA data, showed a monthly report by the Central Electricity Authority (CEA).
