Airtel revenues likely to grow 13-16% through FY27
Bharti Airtel is slated to deliver 13%-16% growth in consolidated revenues/Ebitda compounded annually through FY24-FY27, propelled by a combination of more frequent tariff hikes, a ramp-up of its 5G-based fixed wireless access (FWA) offerings as well as a steady growth of its non-mobile businesses and Africa operations, analysts said. They added that reduced capex spends towards 5G and rural network expansion from FY25 onwards is also slated to help the nation's second-largest telco generate substantial free cash flows (FCF) in the next two fiscals. «With a moderation in capex intensity, Airtel is likely to generate significant free cash flows of ₹33,000 crore-₹43,000 crore in FY25-FY26, which should lead to significant deleveraging and improvement in shareholder returns,» Motilal Oswal said in a research note seen by ET.

Deceptive 'pro-Harris' manifesto tied to pro-Trump group
Kamala Harris's political manifesto, but the catchily titled "Progress 2028" is actually a fake document that a funding watchdog says was produced by a dark money group with ties to Donald Trump's billionaire backer Elon Musk. Researchers say Progress 2028 — purportedly a liberal counter to the conservative initiative Project 2025 — is riddled with misinformation and is behind a series of Facebook ads that distort the Democratic contender's policy positions about key issues such as immigration and gun control. Backing it is a group called Building America's Future, a conservative dark money network which has reportedly received funding from Musk, the world's richest man and a vigorous campaigner for Republican Trump's re-election bid.

Indian companies on global US sanctions list will not impact defence ecosystem
Indian companies sanctioned by the US as part of a global effort to crack down on supply of dual use items to Russia will not have a major impact on the domestic defence ecosystem as most of them are not linked to any major project. Only one of them has limited work with the Defence Research and Development Organisation and the armed forces. Out of the 19 Indian firms on the global list of 400 plus companies sanctioned, several are entities that seem to be just carrying out trading activities by purchasing western equipment including electronics and selling them to Russian companies that have been hit by western sanctions. Some of them, like Denvas Services, which mainly supplies digital kiosks for various services, also have Russian nationals as registered directors and shareholders. It is legal for Indian companies to have foreign nationals as directors and there are no sanctions on conducting work with Russian entities. The company has been accused of procuring US-origin microelectronics for use in its advanced Russian conventional weapons.

2 reasons why stock market is witnessing a tougher Diwali than expected
Indian indices have fallen 7-8% in the last month, wherein US indices have inched up 1-2% and the rest of world, including China, being stable. This could be due to two reasons a) The Chinese stimulus package announced in September to revise their real estate and stock markets b) Weaker than expected earnings results for India Inc. in Q2F2025 so far. FII outflow at over US$ 10 billion has been unprecedented, probably moving into China. The India Earnings growth story has been delayed but not derailed and it is just a matter of time. The themes we would like to be invested in the current environment are largely domestic facing sectors like the capex-related power sector against global, especially since we are having strong economic tailwinds and global headwinds for slowdown in growth. In the global facing sector, we would like to be invested in India’s outsourcing stories like pharmaceuticals.

Chinese researchers develop AI model for military use on back of Meta's Llama
Meta's publicly available Llama model to develop an AI tool for potential military applications, according to academic papers and analysts. In a June paper reviewed by Reuters, six Chinese researchers from three institutions, including two under the People's Liberation Army's (PLA) leading research body, the Academy of Military Science (AMS), detailed how they had used an early version of Meta's Llama as a base for what it calls «ChatBIT». The researchers used the Llama 2 13B large language model (LLM) that Meta released in February 2023, incorporating their own parameters to construct a military-focused AI tool to gather and process intelligence, and offer accurate and reliable information for operational decision-making.
