Mossad's Hidden Hand: How Taiwan-made pagers and 3 grams of explosives killed many
Hezbollah members across Lebanon were caught off guard when their pagers detonated, resulting in widespread casualties. The devices, which were embedded with hidden explosives by Israeli operatives, caused the deaths of at least nine people and injured over 2,800, according to reports. The pagers were originally intended for Hezbollah’s communication network but were turned into instruments of destruction through a covert Israeli operation. The attacks were centered in Beirut’s southern suburbs, a Hezbollah stronghold, and the eastern Bekaa Valley, where explosions began around 3:30 p.m. local time and lasted for about an hour. Footage showed scenes of chaos as fighters and civilians collapsed on the streets, suffering injuries to their faces, fingers, and abdomens. Hospitals across Lebanon were overwhelmed with victims bearing wounds consistent with the placement of the pagers.

Gold Apollo says it did not make pagers used in Lebanon explosions
Taiwan's Gold Apollo did not make the pagers that were used in the detonations in Lebanon on Tuesday, the company's founder Hsu Ching-Kuang told reporters on Wednesday. At least nine people were killed and nearly 3,000 wounded when pagers used by Hezbollah members detonated simultaneously across Lebanon on Tuesday. Images of destroyed pagers analysed by Reuters showed a format and stickers on the back that were consistent with pagers made by Gold Apollo. A senior Lebanese security source told Reuters that Hezbollah had ordered 5,000 pagers from the Taiwan-based Gold Apollo.

Donald Trump told new security arrangements are needed if he keeps playing golf
Secret Service told Donald Trump in a private meeting that significant new security arrangements will be needed if he wants to keep playing golf, The New York Times reported on Tuesday. Trump asked Ronald Rowe, the Secret Service's acting director, in a meeting on Monday whether it was safe for him to continue playing, the newspaper said. Rowe said the Secret Service views the golf course at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland as easier to secure because it is a military course. That meeting occurred a day after the Secret Service thwarted a second apparent assassination attempt on Trump in less than two months. On Sunday, Secret Service agents fired on Ryan Wesley Routh, the apparent would-be assassin, when they saw the barrel of his gun poking through the fenceline at Trump's golf course in West Palm Beach, Florida, and local police officers later arrested him.

Israel planted explosives in Hezbollah's Taiwan-made pagers, say sources
Israel's Mossad spy agency planted a small amount of explosives inside 5,000 Taiwan-made pagers ordered by Lebanese group Hezbollah months before Tuesday's detonations, a senior Lebanese security source and another source told Reuters. The operation was an unprecedented Hezbollah security breach that saw thousands of pagers detonate across Lebanon, killing nine people and wounding nearly 3,000 others, including the group's fighters and Iran's envoy to Beirut. Iran-backed Hezbollah has vowed to retaliate against Israel, whose military declined to comment on the blasts.

Women want equal opportunity: SC objects to Bengal's 'no night duty' policy for women doctors
Supreme Court on Tuesday objected to the West Bengal government's 'Rattierer Saathi' programme which stipulated that working hours of women should not exceed 12 hours at a time and prescribed avoiding night duty. A bench comprising Chief Justice D Y Chandrachud and Justices J B Pardiwala and Manoj Misra expressed surprise that the state government has issued such a notification. The top court said if men are working in more that 12-hour shift, women doctors are also entitled to do so. «How can you say that women will not work in night shifts? Women will have objection if you stop them from working in the night,» it said.

Netanyahu allies make the case for firing Israeli defense minister
Subscribe to enjoy similar stories. TEL AVIV—Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s political allies vigorously made the case for him to replace his defense minister amid bitter disagreement over the war in Gaza, a move that would deepen the divide between the leader and his security establishment and remove the government’s main advocate of a tighter relationship with the U.S. Sacking Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, who has clashed publicly with Netanyahu for months, would have wide-ranging impacts on the country’s multifront war and U.S.
