Modi govt uses Bharat Ratna awards to send political message across
While the UPA government reserved all three Bharat Ratnas during its 10 years to non-politicians (CNR Rao, Bhimsen Joshi and Sachin Tendulkar), the Modi government has made politically astute choices in selecting each of the awardees. The timing of the awards followed by entry of new allies in NDA cannot be seen as coincidences. The conferring of Bharat Ratna on Karpoori Thakur was meant to show the importance BJP gave to Backwards and Extremely Backward Communities. Nitish Kumar's second switch back to NDA followed the announcement.

Focus on PV Narasimha Rao as PM and Congressman
Bharat Ratna on the late Congress stalwart and former PM PV Narasimha Rao has brought the spotlight back on a leader whose stint was also known for frosty relations with the Sonia Gandhi-led Congress establishment, among others. Rao was virtually shunned by Congress and was treated as a 'political untouchable' after his government was voted out in 1996. Clearly, the award from the Narendra Modi government to a Congress leader is not just a recognition for the former PM who left his mark in various fields but it is also meant to rub the Gandhis and their loyalists in Congress the wrong way. Even during his PM stint, Rao and Sonia were known to have shared a tense relationship. Sonia's one-time advisor Natwar Singh has recorded a few details in his autobiography. Even the 10 Janpath loyalists, who used to spread versions of how PM Rao used to go out of his way to show respect and loyalty to her, later started complaining how he deftly reduced Gandhi to a «golden bird in a golden cage» during his tenure. While Rao government gave Bharat Ratna to Rajiv Gandhi posthumously in 1991, Rao made it a point to confer the same on the long-overlooked Sardar Patel.

Pamela Anderson reveals the reason for abandoning makeup
Pamela Anderson rising to fame on "Baywatch" before turning out to be the most familiar face in the world, was in the news in September at the time of attending the Paris Fashion Week without using makeup. Recently she has discussed leaving makeup. Currently, Anderson will be making an entry into the beauty space with Sonsie, her latest brand which is a skincare line, however, according to her, her bare face is not for public attention. The choice of Anderson to claim her identity in public arrived after she narrated her side of the story in the past year in «Pamela, a Love Story», a busy Netflix documentary, and in "Love Pamela", her memoir. The projects are following the limited Hulu series of 2022 «Pam & Tommy» about the stolen sex tape of Anderson with Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee.

How Taylor Swift's Eras Tour compares to buying Super Bowl 58 tickets
Taylor Swift's "Eras Tour" has been a challenge since its inception in 2023, and as the international leg kicks off in 2024, the struggle persists. Swift's devoted fanbase ensures that ticket sales are a frenzy, with access codes required just to enter the ticketing process. Even then, securing tickets is far from guaranteed, often leading fans to turn to the secondary market where prices are significantly inflated. Similarly, acquiring tickets to the Super Bowl is no easy feat. The event typically sells out quickly through a lottery system, leaving many fans to resort to the resale market where prices soar into the thousands of dollars, even for the cheapest seats.
