Joining Statham in the cast are Wu Jing, Shuya Sophia Cai, Page Kennedy, Sergio Peris-Mencheta and Cliff Curtis. The early arrival of Meg 2 on Netflix raises questions, with no clear explanation. However, recent trends show an increase in newer Warner Bros. Discovery movies hitting Netflix in the United States. Over the past months, several films from Warner Bros. Discovery's 2021 theatrical line-up, including non-exclusive titles like Don’t Worry Darling, Godzilla entries, and Dune, have found their way to the streaming service. This could be part of a separate deal with Netflix, possibly influenced by the success of the first Meg movie, which premiered on the platform on December 1, 2023. Notably, the release timeline for Meg 2 has been faster than typical Warner Bros. Pictures releases.
