DUBAI (Reuters) — Non-oil business activity in the United Arab Emirates expanded at a faster rate in September than the previous month, a survey showed on Wednesday, as new orders came in at the fastest rate in four years.

Florida-based startup M2X Energy has raised more than $20 million from investors, including Bill Gates-backed Breakthrough Energy Ventures, to build its gas-to-methanol trailers. The methanol plants on wheels could help reduce methane emissions at remote locations like North Dakota’s Bakken shale play where gas is often produced as a byproduct of oil and a dearth of pipeline space means the fuel isn’t transported to market. In the US, more than 286.7 billion cubic feet of gas was wasted through flaring or venting in 2021 from upstream oil and gas facilities, although the actual figure is likely far larger because some releases don’t get reported and the total doesn’t include emissions from some key producing states that don’t track the data.

In the last 10 years, the benchmark Nifty 50 has given positive monthly returns nine times, with an average return of 2.9%. ETMarkets did a further analysis of stocks that have given positive returns to investors consistently in October in the last three years. The analysis revealed that there are five such stocks that have given double-digit returns in October in each of the last three years.

Company PJSC (IHC) said on Tuesday that it has raised its stake in Adani Enterprises Ltd (AEL) days after exiting two other Adani Group companies. IHC boosted its holding in Adani Group flagship AEL to more than 5% from the 3.53% stake it first acquired in May 2022 for ₹7,700 crore. The investor last week disclosed that it would sell its stakes in Adani Green Energy and Adani Energy Solutions (formerly Adani Transmission). IHC said the decision to boost its holding in AEL reflects its conviction in the business incubation model of AEL, and the inherent strength of airports, data centres, green hydrogen and other verticals being incubated by the company.
