Cashfree Payments launches new payment solution for software platforms
Cashfree Payments, on Wednesday, launched a platform centric payment solution‘Embedded Payments’. This solution equips software platforms with the tools to facilitate seamless payment experiences for businesses. The solution aims to revolutionise the way software platforms like enterprise resource planning (ERPs), customer relationship management (CRMs), SaaS or billing platforms and similar solutions, provide payment experience to their end users. Currently, software platform developers struggle with integrating payments into the tools they build for online businesses due to complexities, poor user experience, operational overhead and limited knowledge of compliance. As a result, online businesses or merchants separately integrate payment systems themselves. With the integration of ‘Embedded Payments’, software platforms can enable their end users to make payments for products or services directly on the platform, eliminating the need for redirection to another page or site for the payment process. This will eliminate any disruptions and drop-offs caused due to external payment redirections.

Tata Motors’ demerger is backed by a dual-lane strategy
It was common once for the word ‘conglomerate’ to be prefixed by ‘unwieldy’ and ‘unfocused’ by reflex. If that sounds strange today, then the Tata Group could claim some credit for it. Sure, survival amid competition demands an edge sharpened in focal fields of specialization, and Tata did withdraw from some markets in the 1990s (soaps and suds, for example), but its operations still span a spectrum from salt to software.

Small investors are savvier; look what they did with small-cap stocks
MUMBAI : Retail investors appear to have turned savvier with stock trading, cashing out of small-cap counters while prices ruled high. As a category, retail investors' share in these stocks declined between the March and December quarters, a period when many small-cap stocks generated sky-high returns. In the past, many retail investors used to burn their fingers, buying up overheated shares and selling lower.

From rock to rap, artists are doubling down on videogames to reach new listeners
A few hours before the up-and-coming rapper Odetari released his latest album on the major streaming platforms, fans got a chance to hear it first in an unlikely venue: a videogame. Music has long been a part of games, but artists—from Gen X stalwart Metallica and pop star Lady Gaga to rapper Big Sean and indie act Weyes Blood—have been doubling down on the medium in recent years, taking advantage of modern tactics for reaching the industry’s massive youth-oriented user base. Artists are signing deals with game companies to debut new songs through interactive events and as background music for games themselves, in some cases weeks before those tracks are released on the likes of Spotify.
