Jay-Z lawsuit beginning to hurt wife Beyonce? Singer's 2025 tour and Christmas NFL appearance now in serious doubt
Jay-Z, Beyonce's massive 2025 tour and Christmas NFL appearance are in jeopardy. The startling allegations may cast doubt on Beyoncé's massive tour scheduled for next year. Jay Z has angrily refuted idiotic allegations that he raped and drugged a 13-year-old girl. According to an anonymous lawsuit, the 55-year-old music mogul and fellow rapper Sean Diddy Combs alternated in the assault, as quoted in a report by The US Sun. On September 7, 2000, an MTV VMAs after-party in New York was reported to have included an unidentified female celebrity. Combs was the target of the October lawsuit, which was resubmitted on Sunday to include Beyoncé's husband, Jay Z, as a defendant.

What is Carfentanil? The drug CDC says is 10,000 times stronger than Morphine and 100 times more powerful than Fentanyl
morphine and 100 times stronger than fentanyl. The alarming resurgence of this drug poses significant risks, especially as overdose deaths linked to carfentanil have surged. According to the CDC, nearly 70% of all U.S. overdose deaths last year involved illegally manufactured fentanyls (IMFs), with carfentanil playing a dangerous role. Initially linked to a wave of deaths in 2016, carfentanil had largely disappeared from the drug supply until recently. Between January and June 2024, overdose deaths involving carfentanil spiked approximately sevenfold, rising from 29 to 238 cases compared to the same period in 2023.

EEPC India submits pre-budget memorandum to MSME Ministry
EEPC India, the apex engineering exports promotion body, has proposed introducing a 25% income tax slab for MSME manufacturing units that are partnerships, LLPs, or sole proprietorships. In its pre-Budget memorandum to the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, EEPC India also suggested increasing the benefits limit available under the Interest Equalization Scheme (IES) to Rs 10 crores from Rs 50 lakh now and offering 100% depreciation for investment in solar power generation by MSME units. Pankaj Chadha, Chairman, EEPC India said in a statement, «Private limited companies currently pay 25% income tax, while entities like partnerships, LLPs, and sole proprietorships pay approximately 35% after including surcharges. We therefore urge the government to introduce a 25% income tax slab for MSME manufacturing units that are partnerships, LLPs, or sole proprietorships. The condition would be that the extra 10% saved must be reinvested in the business.»

budget 2025
Ahead of Budget 2025, revenue secretary Sanjay Malhotra's transfer to RBI leaves key position vacant
Sanjay Malhotra from the Ministry of Finance in New Delhi to the Reserve Bank of India in Mumbai has left a key position vacant, just seven weeks before Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is set to present the Union Budget. This development poses a unique challenge as the government has yet to announce Malhotra's successor for a role that demands extensive expertise in both direct and indirect taxation. Historically, the government has refrained from extending terms of finance officials even in the crucial lead-up to the budget. The vacancy now highlights the delicate balance required to ensure seamless coordination within the finance ministry, which comprises six departments—Revenue, Expenditure, Economic Affairs, Financial Services, DIPAM, and Public Enterprises. Of these, Revenue, Expenditure, and Economic Affairs play critical roles in shaping the Union Budget. This year's scenario is further complicated by recent changes in leadership. DIPAM Secretary Tuhin Kanta Pandey, now serving as the Finance Secretary due to his seniority, is juggling multiple responsibilities, including overseeing the Department of Public Enterprises and the Department of Personnel. For Expenditure Secretary Manoj Govil and Financial Services Secretary M. Nagaraju, the upcoming budget will be their first experience in such a high-stakes exercise.

dearness allowances (DA) by 3% to 53% for central government employees. The new DA hike has been in effect from July 1, 2024 onwards. Central government employees received higher take-home pay after the government raised a number of additional benefits when the dearness allowance reached 50%. View: India shouldn’t let its data turn Chinese
That has, quietly, changed. While few believe Indian statisticians are actively working to make growth numbers look better than they are, less and less data is publicly available, methods are less transparent, and the GDP figures in particular sometimes diverge puzzlingly from independent data. The minister in charge of statistics recently told Parliament that the government planned to ask a new committee to recommend how it should update its national accounts. Official statisticians should seize this opportunity to overhaul how India’s GDP is calculated in order to win back trust.
