We are seeing a reversal in the dollar as well, which typically has never been the case because in a risk of a scenario, you actually see the dollar hold up. But that is not really the case right now and of course, emerging markets are a bit of a divided construct as well, if you will. Varun Goel: As far as Indian markets are concerned, a cyclical slowdown has been playing out for the last six to nine months and it appears that growth is incrementally going to get better.

Emergency crews were trying to lift the bus back onto its wheels to see if any more victims were trapped underneath it, said William Nthladi, a spokesperson for the city's Ekurhuleni Emergency Management. Uber on Tuesday said it has tied up with Refex Green Mobility to deploy 1,000 electric vehicles across key cities by 2026, furthering its efforts to boost electric vehicles on its platform. The collaboration aligns with Uber's global objective of providing 100 per cent emission-free rides by 2040, the company said in a statement. The deployment will see electric four-wheelers onboarded onto the Uber platform across Chennai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Mumbai, it added. «Uber is committed to accelerating the shift to zero-emission mobility in India, and this partnership with Refex eVeelz is a significant step in that direction,» said Aditya Kapoor, Head, Supply and Electrification, Uber India and South Asia.

Maharashtra following the state government decision to levy 6% motor vehicle tax, said executives at luxury car makers. As part of the budget proposal for FY26, the Maharashtra government will levy a 6% motor vehicle tax on EVs priced above Rs 30 lakh. Currently, all EVs sold in Maharashtra are exempt from motor vehicle tax. Additionally, the government raised the motor vehicle tax by 1 percentage point on individual-owned non-transport four-wheeler CNG and LPG vehicles. Depending on the vehicle type and price, such vehicles currently attract 7% to 9% tax.

What is your current take on the chemical pack because that is one of the export-related plays and what has been happening in Europe, give us some sense that what are you picking up within the chemical basket as well as anything in particular that is looking interesting to you right now? Mayuresh Joshi: Two things, there is one part of the chemical basket which is highly commoditised including players in the soda ash space, for example, where China has a huge dominance and the other spaces which in reality belongs to the specialty chemical space as well where there are niche players and where the expectations in terms of core applications are limited to those niche players.

Delhi government is mulling over formation of a Yamuna task force in collaboration with the Territorial Army to prevent encroachments on flood plains of the river, dumping of debris and waste and other illegal activities. PWD and Water Minister Parvesh Verma said he discussed the issue with the Territorial Army. The specialised task force will be dedicated to protect the Yamuna floodplains, prevent encroachments, stop illegal dumping of debris and waste, and ensuring strict enforcement of environmental regulations, he said. «Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the double-engine government of the BJP, we are committed to restoring the Yamuna and protecting its floodplains. For years, illegal encroachments and waste dumping have choked the Yamuna,» Verma said.
