Indian rupee weakened on Thursday, pressured by dollar demand by importers, even as the greenback lingered near a four-month low against its major peers amid concerns about a slowdown in the U.S. economy. The rupee closed at 87.1150 against the U.S. dollar, down about 0.2% on the day.

Ola Electric, India's largest electric vehicle company, has achieved a significant milestone by becoming the first two-wheeler automotive electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer in India to receive incentives under the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for Automotive and Auto Component (PLI-Auto Scheme). The company has been granted a total incentive of Rs 73.74 crore for the Determined Sales Value of FY 2023-24 under the scheme, according to a stock exchange filing by the company. The PLI-Auto Scheme, launched by the Government of India, aims to boost domestic manufacturing in the automotive sector and promote the adoption of advanced, clean, and sustainable mobility solutions.

Darwinbox, which specialises in human resource (HR) services, has closed a $140 million funding round co-led by global private equity firms Partners Group and KKR. The round—largely secondary with a small primary component—also saw participation by Gravity Holdings. Sources said the blended valuation of the round was around $950 million. The company was last valued at $1 billion in 2022, following a $72 million funding round led by Netflix-backer TCV.

Earlier on March 2, the Delhi government had announced plans to enhance tourism and promote sustainable water transport by introducing a ferry and cruise service along a 7-8 km stretch of the Yamuna. The service will operate between Wazirabad Barrage (Sonia Vihar) and Jagatpur (ShTemple).
