Indian Army hosts Graziers' Mela in high-altitude village, celebrating tradition & resilience
Indian Army hosted a Graziers’ Mela under the “Vibrant Village Zemithang”. The event took place in the border village of Nelya, situated at a stunning altitude of 10,000 feet amongst the snow-capped peaks of Zemithang, along the Indo-Tibet and Indo-Bhutan borders on November 11 . This unique gathering aimed to revive and support the centuries-old practice of cattle grazing—a tradition that has sustained generations of the local community. Each grazing season, these resilient graziers journey across international borders in search of lush pastures for their cattle. However, with changing socio-economic and geopolitical landscapes, fewer people are able to sustain this age-old way of life.

Karnataka Minister Khan tenders apology for referring to Kumaraswamy as 'Kaalia'
B Z Zameer Ahmed Khan tendered an apology on Tuesday for referring to Union Minister and JD(S) leader H D Kumaraswamy as «Kaalia», which the NDA had slammed as a «racist» slur. The Congress leader, however, repeatedly tried to clarify that he had earlier too addressed Kumaraswamy in such a way out of affection, when they shared a good bonding, and it's not the first time. The Housing and Waqf Minister was earlier with JD(S), and was considered to be a close associate of Kumaraswamy, who had earlier served as the Chief Minister, at the time. "....If I had called him using such a word for the first time, I would have apologised....out of affection, he used to call me 'Kulla' (dwarf), I used to call him Kariyanna (black brother). If still he or anyone is pained by it, I apologise. What is there in that?" Khan said.

Is prayer a placebo?
prayer, and those who pray are seen as weak. To many, praying indicates weakness of the mind, escaping from reality, and seeking help from an invisible God. Most people forget that even a great scientist such as Einstein expressed wonder and reverence for the laws of nature. The fact that a large, beautiful universe exists whose beginning has not been observed by any human gives credibility to the idea of a creator god. So, why not converse with such a magnificent Being who is our universal father and may, perhaps, be the universe's sole designer? As one is not addressing another human but an invisible, omnipresent entity, the one-sided communication is termed 'prayer'. When man has lost all hope, this prayer sustains him, and he surrenders to the Almighty's will. Prayer is more than a placebo because we see prayers being granted in unique ways when sought with true devotion. Gandhiji said, 'Prayer is a longing of the soul; it is an admission of our weakness and dependence.'
