Fintech firm Taurus has received regulatory approval from Switzerland’s financial regulator to offer tokenized securities to retail clients. In a press release published January 23rd, Taurus announced that it had received regulatory approval from Switzerland’s Financial Market Supervisory Authority (FINMA) to make its financial services and TDX Marketplace available to retail clients.

Taurus, a Swiss crypto infrastructure firm has announced a partnership with Deutsche Bank to set up cryptocurrency custody alongside tokenized services for its clients.

Deutsche Bank in June signalled its intention to push into the crypto sector when it applied for regulatory approval to operate a custody service for digital assets, including cryptocurrencies.

The German bank was one of a handful of company’s to invest in a $65 million, series B fundraising round for Taurus in Feb. 2023. The company offers enterprise-grade infrastructure to issue, manage custody and trade cryptocurrencies, tokenized assets, nonfungible tokens (NFTs) and other digital assets.

Digital asset infrastructure provider Taurus is stepping up its tokenization efforts in Europe through a full integration with the Polygon blockchain, the company announced on June 2. 

Founded in April 2018, Taurus provides enterprise-grade infrastructure to issue, custody and trade any digital assets: cryptocurrencies including staking, tokenized assets and digital currencies.Taurus already works with more than 25 financial institutions and corporate clients in eight countries and three continents, including systemically important financial institutions, retail and online banks, private banks, crypto-banks, investment banks, and broker-dealers. Clients include Arab Bank Switzerland, CACEIS, Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank, Pictet, Swissquote, Vontobel.André Helfenstein, CEO, Credit Suisse Switzerland, comments: "The strategic partnership with Taurus is a cornerstone of the Swiss Bank division's digital assets strategy with the ambition to become the leading Swiss bank in that space.

The custodian, which serves as the asset servicing arm of Credit Agricole and Santander's banking group, has selected Swiss-based Taurus to help boost its digital assets offering.
