Organic food revamp: India's ₹100 cr strategy to boost quality, affordability
₹100 crore to add about two dozen laboratories for testing organic products as well as upgrade existing labs, two people aware of the development told Mint. The move is aimed at enhancing the quality of organic food available in the domestic market and ensuring better pricing for the country's 4.43 million organic farmers. This comes as a response to the rapid expansion of India's organic food market and the current limited capacity for testing organic products, said one of the persons cited above, who did not wish to be named.

Best Fund Managers: 10 fund managers who generated most wealth for investors in six years
stock market, with its shifting preferences, has tested their mettle. Fund managers have had to dig deep, revisit long-held beliefs and adapt to the changing realities. Even as they bear the scars of the battle, these experts have kept calm and held their nerve to guide their funds through chaos. In this year’s Best Fund Manager rankings, we have tied up with investment research platform, PrimeInvestor, to shine the spotlight on 10 such individuals, who have delivered healthy outcomes to investors in the long run. Initially, the preferred growth oriented investing style plied by many of these fund managers fetched superior results. However, as the market gravitated towards the value segment, this approach was tested. Overpaying for quality has burnt many fingers. Most fund managers have stayed true to their convictions, while using the temporary disruption to address past mistakes and improve the resilience of their portfolios. The common thread visible in the top fund managers’ strategies is the emphasis on avoiding risk and constantly re-evaluating their investing theses. These qualities have helped them deliver healthy risk-adjusted returns over entire market cycles.

India pummel England for record win
Test match to romp to a 434-run win, their biggest victory in terms of runs. India now lead 2-1 with two Tests to play and once again look like a force at home. For some time now the template has been to play on rank turners at home, and this has resulted in a lottery of sorts. But, with England attacking relentlessly, India returned to the old model. On a Rajkot pitch that was built to last five days, with wear and tear coming into play at the back end, India played to their strengths and pulled off a perfect home Test. Records fell along the way. Yashasvi Jaiswal, returning to the crease, creamed 12 sixes — equalling the mark Wasim Akram set in the course of his unlikely double-hundred against Zimbabwe — and became the third Indian to score back-to-back double-hundreds in a series.

"Will look to win series 3-2": Ben Stokes after losing Rajkot Test to India by 434 runs
434-run loss against India on Sunday at Rajkot, England Test skipper Ben Stokes asserted that the team will look to win the rest of the two Tests at Ranchi and Dharamshala respectively to seal the series 3-2. A five-wicket haul by ace all-rounder and first-innings centurion Ravindra Jadeja and top knocks from skipper Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, double centurion Yashasvi Jaiswal and debutant Sarfaraz Khan saw England sink to its knees and surrender to the hosts inside four days. «Ben Duckett played an unbelievable innings. That was the tone we wanted to set throughout the innings. It was about identifying that opportunity and getting as close to India's total. We wanted to bowl yesterday but it was earlier than when we wanted. Sometimes game plans don't work and that was the case,» Stokes said in the post-match presentation.

"A wake up call that you can't play one way against quality teams": Vaughan on England's loss to India
Michael Vaughan took to social media and said that England's performance is a «wake-up call» that they cannot play in one particular way against quality teams. The highly attacking, positive and result-oriented 'Bazball' approach did not work for England as they witnessed a heavy collapse in their first innings after a solid start and could not even put up a fight in the last innings. «Even when this England team have lost in the last 2 years you have always been able to take positives… or they haven't been hammered… this is looking like a wake up call that surely sends a message you can't just play one way against quality teams,» Vaughan wrote on X.

Rohit relishes India's big Test win with 'young team'
India skipper Rohit Sharma on Sunday said winning a Test with a huge margin over England was «quite satisfying» after youngsters stood up to deliver in the absence of frontline players. The hosts hammered England by 434 runs in Rajkot on day four for their biggest-ever Test victory to lead the five-match series 2-1. Yashasvi Jaiswal hit an unbeaten 214 and put on a marathon 172-run stand with debutant Sarfaraz Khan, 68 not out, to set up the dominant win.

India vs England: From Sarfaraz Khan's fifties to Yashasvi Jaiswal's double tons, five records of 3rd test
India on Sunday crushed the visiting England team in the third test. In the process, several records were broken, from most number of sixes to India's biggest win in terms of runs. 1) First of all, India broke its own record for most sixes in a Test series by any team, touching a total of 48 big hits in the ongoing three-match series. The team went past its own tally of 47 sixes in three Tests against South Africa at home back in 2019, a series which had three Test matches. With two matches left, India could score a lot more sixes and outdo its previous record by a huge margin. 2) Debutant Sarfaraz Khan also created a record. He had a memorable debut in the international arena during the third Test against England, becoming the only fourth Indian to score twin half-centuries on Test debut. In the match, Sarfaraz played a highly-attacking game, taking the spinners to attack. In the first innings, he scored 62 in 66 balls, with nine fours and a six. In the second innings, he scored 68* in 72 balls, with six fours and three sixes.

Cricket-England's Stokes stands by 'Bazball' despite India shellacking
England's heaviest test defeats could not shake Ben Stokes's conviction in their high-risk approach and the touring skipper believes they can still win the five-test series in India. England's bold tactics under Stokes and coach Brendon 'Baz' McCullum have revitalised test cricket and India, who have not lost a test series on home soil since 2012, were always going to be a litmus test of that philosophy. India crushed England by 434 runs, their biggest win in terms of runs, in the third match in Rajkot to go 2-1 up in the series but Stokes will not abandon 'Bazball' yet despite criticism that it borders on recklessness.

India vs England 3rd Test: Young Yashasvi Jaiswal and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja destroyed England to secure a historic win for India in the 3rd Test match at Rajkot. Yashasvi Jaiswal's back-to-back second double century brought the stadium to its feet and everybody was proud of the youngster. But, in a post-match interaction, Rohit Sharma chose to skip talking about Yashasvi Jaiswal's innings and said he just wanted him to continue his game.
