Alva’s Education Foundation, is recognized as the top Kannada medium school in the state for its quality of teaching and co-curricular activities. The offline exam is scheduled for March 3rd.
The entrance examination is held for admission to classes VI, VII, VIII, and IX. This year, the school has received the highest number of applications to date, with around 300 available seats. All applications were sent via post.
According to Headmaster Srinidhi Yalachittaya, the entrance examination has been conducted since 2010. Initially, the exam was held at the district headquarters but is now exclusively held at the Alva’s campus in Moodbidri. The number of applicants has significantly increased over the years, with 1,500 candidates applying during the first year and 19,006 candidates applying this year, marking the highest number in the school's history. In the previous year, the school received 13,169 applications, and approximately 12,000 candidates appeared for the exam. Out of these, only 250 students were shortlisted and admitted to various classes. Yalachittaya mentioned that the intake of students varies each year and is dependent on the performance in the entrance exam. Students admitted under the foundation’s adoption system receive free education and are provided with opportunities to enhance their non-academic skills.
As per the statistics, the highest number of applicants are from Belagavi, with 6,417 candidates applying from the district. Following Belagavi, candidates from Bagalkot and Vijayapura
