Navi Mumbai has become the latest victim of cyber fraud, losing a substantial sum of Rs 45.69 lakh in a share trading scam, as revealed by an official statement on Tuesday. The victim, whose identity remains undisclosed, was reportedly approached by a group of cyber criminals through various social media platforms. These individuals, promising lucrative returns, convinced the victim to invest in share trading between March 2 and April 14. Despite investing nearly Rs 45.69 lakh during this period, the victim failed to receive any returns on the investment, leading to significant financial repercussions. In response to the victim's complaint, the cyber police station has taken swift action, registering a First Information Report (FIR) against five suspects. The charges include «cheating» under Section 420 of the Indian Penal Code and «criminal breach of trust» under Section 406, among others. Law enforcement authorities are actively pursuing the case, employing various investigative techniques to identify and apprehend the accused.

Shriram Finance Ltd. rose 0.15 per cent to Rs 2411.9 in Tuesday's trade. It hit an intraday high of Rs 2423.3 and low of Rs 2355.7, respectively, during the day. The stock quoted a 52-week high price of Rs 2605.0 and low of Rs 1296.55.

Cholamandalam Investment & Finance Company Ltd. traded 1.85 per cent down in Tuesday's trade at 01:54PM (IST). Around 7,552 shares changed hands on the counter. The stock opened at Rs 1155.1 and touched an intraday high and low of Rs 1162.45 and Rs 1131.05, respectively, in the session so far. Shares of the company of Cholamandalam Investment & Finance Company Ltd. quoted a 52-week high of Rs 1309.75 and a 52-week low of Rs 819.0.

NEW DELHI : India has allowed export of 10,000 tonnes of onion to Sri Lanka through the National Cooperatives Exports Cooperative, the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) said in a notification late on Monday. With this, India has approved as much as 79,160 tonnes of onions for export overriding a ban on shipments imposed in December 2023. The government recently approved an additional 10,000 tonnes of onion export to the United Arab Emirates over and above the 24,400 tonnes allowed earlier.
