Elon Musk sues Wachtell law firm to recoup fees from Twitter buyout
The complaint by Musk's X Corp, which owns Twitter, was filed on Wednesday in the California Superior Court in San Francisco. Musk accused Wachtell of exploiting Twitter by accepting, in the final days before the October 27, 2022 deadline to buy Twitter, a huge «success» fees doled out by departing Twitter executives who were grateful that Musk would be forced to close. The world's richest person, who also runs Tesla Inc and SpaceX, called the $90 million payout «unconscionable,» given that Wachtell had billed less than one-third that sum for its few months of work on the Delaware lawsuit.

Twitter may face difficulties showing Meta stole trade secrets
Meta Platforms stole trade secrets to build its new microblogging site may be the first volley in a legal battle between the social media giants, but experts say Twitter would have to clear a high hurdle if it sues. In a letter sent on Wednesday, Twitter alleged that Meta used its trade secrets to develop its new social media platform, Threads, and demanded that it stop using the information. Twitter said that Meta had hired dozens of former Twitter employees, many of whom «improperly retained» devices and documents from the company, and said Meta «deliberately» assigned them to work on Threads.

Who is Katie Notopoulos? Know about editor-in-chief of Threads now ‘fired’ over a controversial post
Katie Notopoulos announced on Twitter that she is now “fired” as the Editor in Chief of Threads, Meta’s new social media app. The recently launched application possesses comparable functionalities to Twitter and is managed by Meta, establishing it as the most formidable contender in the market. Numerous individuals, including prominent influencers and streamers, have already joined Threads, resulting in a steady growth of its user base. Initially claiming to be the Editor in Chief, Katie Notopoulos experienced significant online backlash following her controversial post expressing support for Nazi ideologies. The controversy began on Thursday, July 6, 2023, when a user named @riff_n_ryan raised a question regarding the app's creators: «Will you ensure the removal of Nazis from this platform?» This inquiry arose due to the concerning state of Twitter under Elon Musk's leadership, prompting many to seek a more favourable alternative to the micro-blogging app.
