Muntingia calabura) and was useful for growing fast. It would give green volume and shade while slower-growing plants came up. It seemed a stopgap tree, not worth taking that seriously. Within two years it was full-sized, with abundant leaves and, soon, small white-petalled flowers. The surprise was the small red fruits that followed, really like tiny cherries. The tree produces almost continuously, but only a few ripen every day. We find them shaken off by the wind on the ground below. When I was told they were edible, I had little expectation. Many plants have edible fruit, in that they won’t poison you, but that doesn’t really make them worth eating. The fruits tend to have wincingly bitter notes or tannic aftertastes that leave your mouth puckered. Some, like wax or rose apples (Syzygium samarangense) have pleasantly crunchy textures, but little taste. And then there are the sour fruits beloved of Indian school kids, like starberries (Phyllanthus acidus) or bilimbi (Averrhoa bilimbi), which are refreshing on a hot summer day, eaten with salt and washed down with lots of water, or made into a pickle, but that’s about it.

You should ask yourself a question any time that you are going to be looking at investing; would you invest in this product if there were no tax benefits available? If the answer is no, then do not invest in it only to save taxes.” March 31 deadline is almost around the corner and a time when people look at a lot of tax saving instruments. It is usually an insurance policy in most of the cases and this is the time when we see a lot of mis-selling cases rising as far as insurance policies are concerned. A right way to look at insurance should be as an instrument against risk protection. But when it comes to saving taxes, you have a lot of options in insurance. How can one go about it? Harshvardhan Roongta: Yes, we are at the fag-end of the financial year and at this point in time, all the individuals or rather most of them will be running around to save taxes because they have deadlines to finish with their investments to save tax.

UPS economy Remark Fallout War International Coal, the dirtiest fossil fuel, is preparing for a long goodbye
coal to history, the dirtiest fossil fuel is having a moment. Thanks to a combination of China’s energy insecurity — pushing Beijing back to trusted power sources — plus rising Indian demand, the continued fallout from the war in Ukraine and faltering international programs to wean developing economies off fossil fuels, coal is proving remarkably resilient. Output hit a record last year, and producers are preparing for a future where they will be required for decades yet to balance renewable energy. Even prices are holding up. While thermal coal is trading at just a fraction of the lofty levels reached in 2022, after Russia’s invasion of its neighbor, prices are still well above historic norms. Benchmark Newcastle coal futures are changing hands just under $130 a ton, roughly a quarter of the peak but higher than any level between 2011 and 2020.

UPS Action Remark show reports politician NOT Arvind Kejriwal 'invited' ED to arrest him by not responding to summonses: Assam CM
Himanta Biswa Sarma said his Delhi counterpart Arvind Kejriwal effectively invited his own arrest by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) due to his repeated failure to respond to summonses, suggesting that it might have been a tactic to garner political sympathy. Sarma emphasised that when a person disregards nine summonses from the ED, it indicates a deliberate invitation for arrest. He remarked that if Kejriwal had complied with the initial summonses, his arrest might have been avoided. Speaking to reporters at the state BJP headquarters here after a poll-preparedness meeting on Saturday, Sarma said, «If the ED serves someone nine summonses and that person doesn't show up, it is evident that he is inviting his arrest. The ED didn't arrest Kejriwal, he invited the agency to arrest him.»
