Vedanta Ltd. gained 0.22 per cent to Rs 270.5 in Thursday's trade. It hit a high of Rs 271.5 and low of Rs 267.2 during the session. On the technical charts, the 200-DMA of the stock stood at Rs 255.88, while the 50-DMA was at Rs 265.77. If a stock trades above 50-DMA and 200-DMA, it usually means the immediate trend is upward. On the other hand, if the stock trades below 50-DMA and 200-DMA, it is considered a bearish trend and if trades between these averages, then it suggests the stock can go either way.

Tata Investment Corporation rallied 7% to hit a new 52-week high of Rs 6,958.5 in Thursday's trade on BSE. The stock has also zoomed 33% in the last eight days. The stock has been on the rise since the beginning of February following reports that the government has received nine bids from companies including Tata Group and Tower Semiconductor for the overhaul of its Semiconductor Laboratory (SCL) in Mohali.

PI Industries Ltd. gained 0.01 per cent to Rs 3681.5 in Thursday's trade as of 12:38PM (IST). It hit a high of Rs 3686.1 and low of Rs 3633.0 during the session. The stock quoted a 52-week high price of Rs 4010.0 and a low of Rs 2870.0. The return on equity for the stock stood at 17.07 per cent. About 1,729 shares have changed hands on the counter so far.

Ambuja Cements Ltd. fell 0.11 per cent to Rs 587.05 in Thursday's session as of 12:02PM (IST) even as the equity benchmark Sensex traded 273.35 points lower at 72349.74. Earlier in the day, the stock witnessed a gap up start to the session. The stock quoted a 52-week high price of Rs 596.5 and a 52-week low of Rs 324.3 on NSE. Around 25144 shares changed hands on the counter till 12:02PM (IST).

Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals Ltd. rose 0.49 per cent to Rs 291.8 in Thursday's trade. It hit an intraday high of Rs 293.5 and low of Rs 288.6, respectively, during the day. The stock quoted a 52-week high price of Rs 327.8 and low of Rs 251.25.

Pankaj Pandey, Head Research, ICICIdirect.com, says “we still have enough firepower to take Nifty to much higher levels and if election outcomes come on expected lines, then overall we will not be surprised if 25,000 is very much likely on Nifty. Also, in March, a 3-4% kind of upside is very much on the cards. ” Bulls are lacking energy. The thunder is not there. Markets are making all-time highs, but that is just optics. The underlying fabric of the market in the last 8-10 days seems to be getting slightly weak. Pankaj Pandey: At 22,000 levels, obviously it is a psychological level, some bit of nervousness is understandable. But our sense is that typically during a month of, say February and March, the market usually tends to correct and from there on, panning out in a better direction. Our sense is in March, probably a 3-4% kind of upside is very much on the cards.

Adani Power Ltd. traded 1.76 per cent up at Rs 550.95 at around 12:12PM (IST) on Thursday. The stock had closed at Rs 541.4 in the previous session. Equity benchmark Sensex traded 241.37 points lower at 72381.72 around the same time.

Gold rate today, 22 Feb 2024: After the release of the US Fed minutes on Wednesday, gold price today witnessed some relief rally during morning deals. Gold futures contract on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) for April 2024 expiry opened higher at ₹62,155 per 10 gm level and went on touch an intraday high of ₹62,169 per 10 gm level.

IOC share price has gained over 36% in 2024 so far, the stock is up more than 75% in the past three months. BPCL shares have jumped 36% YTD and over 53% in three months, while HPCL share price has surged 34% YTD and 75% in three months.

Shridhar Uppin, Founder & CEO of engineering company Positron, was routinely supervising the operations at his factory, which produces heat exchangers. Despite the shop floor operations going on smoothly, Upin was concerned. He slowly opened up enough to share his worries. “My next generation is not inclined towards managing the company’s operations. They are happy with their regular 9-5 salaried job. I am now thinking of passing on the baton to the most deserving candidate on the shop floor,” said Uppin, 51, a first-generation entrepreneur. However, this was not the only concern. A bigger worry is the infrastructure-related issues plaguing Belagavi’s industrial area. “The city has grown exponentially in the past 10-15 years in terms of industries, but the kind of infrastructure that is required is still missing. Notably, Belagavi is among the top three cities in Karnataka in generating revenue and providing employment. We sometimes feel the city gets a step-motherly treatment from the state government,” said Uppin, the deepening creases on his forehead indicating the extent of his worries.
