Latest Bajaj Finance personal loan interest rates and 6 key factors that influence borrowing cost for customers
The total cost of borrowing is substantially influenced by the interest rate on a personal loan. It is essential to have a thorough understanding of this rate before seeking a loan. The overall cost of borrowing is heavily influenced by the interest rate, as it dictates the additional amount paid in interest on the borrowed sum. A higher interest rate prolongs the loan repayment duration, and conversely, a lower interest rate shortens it. This is due to a higher interest rate leading to a larger share of the monthly payment being allocated to interest rather than reducing the principal amount. As a result, it takes an extended period to reach the point where both the principal and accumulated interest are fully paid off.

IRDAI chief asks insurance players to underwrite disruptions to improve market penetration
Insurance players need to underwrite disruptions to make the vision of 'insurance for all' a reality by 2047, regulator IRDAI's chief Debasish Panda said on Tuesday. The chairman of the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) also emphasised that the approach of 'one-size-fits-all' has become a thing of past due to the radical technology-driven changes taking place in the industry. It's time we retrieve our base, firm up our resolve and collectively underwrite disruptions in the insurance sector and make the vision of 'insurance for all' a reality by 2047. In this process, the role of the actuary becomes paramount. The disruptions in the insurance sector cannot happen without the support of actuaries, Panda said at the 23rd global conference of actuaries organized by the Institute of Actuaries of India here. «There is a need to come out of the traditional and conventional roles and embrace dynamism and agility and also there is a need to see the sector from a different lens,» he said, acknowledging the role of actuaries in designing the insurance products and drive the growth of the sector.

Hindalco’s EBITDA per tonne trajectory will keep on improving: Aditya Welekar, Axis Securities
Aditya Welekar, AVP, Axis Securities, says the “Hindalco project will earn a higher EBITDA per tonne as compared to the existing $525 per tonne. This project will earn $700 plus per tonne EBITDA per tonne. So, as and when it comes online, that will be value accretive, but that is far away from now because the project will take 15 to 18 months to ramp up from the date of commissioning in the second half of CY2026.” How are two factors – cost overrun and also delay in commissioning of project — are going to change your view on Hindalco and secondly, don’t you think that because of the delay in commissioning of this project, the aluminium cycle which has been on an uptrend so far could reverse by the time the plant actually starts? Aditya Welekar: The support of aluminium prices will be there. Indian operations will be doing better. The only overhang will be because of that capex intensity at the project, but at the same time they have also indicated levers at EBITDA per tonne reaching to $600 per tonne at Novelis and that looks kind of achievable because as they move forward, prices will reset at a higher level for Novelis and their recycling percentage and automotive share in the total product mix will also increase in future.

Farmers' protest impacts traffic in Noida amid security checks at Delhi borders
Noida's borders with Delhi and checking of vehicles increased on Tuesday in view of a farmers' protest march to the national capital, impacting the traffic movement in the region. The farmers propose to march to Delhi to press for their demands, including implementation of a law to guarantee minimum support price (MSP) for crops. The protesting farmers' groups are largely from Punjab, Haryana and western Uttar Pradesh. In Uttar Pradesh, Delhi shares its borders with Noida and Ghaziabad, which have often been the centres of sit-in by protestors from the state who are not allowed entry into the capital. «Various farmers' groups from Noida and Greater Noida have proposed a march to Delhi today (Tuesday) over their demands. In view of this, security has been beefed up Noida's borders with Delhi,» a police spokesperson said here.

Tata Chemicals’ US & Europe exports to experience margin compression next year: R Mukundan
R Mukundan, MD & CEO, Tata Chemicals, says “the main issue which we will face going forward next year is going to be in terms of exports where compared to the pricing which we got in the export markets, we would see at least a $100 reduction. This is mainly out of exports coming out of the US and Europe. We have operations in the UK, similar to most people, there is going to be a compression of margin of at least a hundred pounds per tonne. Those are the two pressure points.”
