Delhi flood updates: Delhi on Saturday only got a momentary relief when Yamuna river waters were noted receding after flooding the national capital. UPS Cooper Waters RAI Delhi CM deputes ministers to ensure proper facilities at flood relief camps
Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday held a Cabinet meeting and deputed ministers at six flood-affected districts to ensure proper facilities at relief camps set up by the Delhi government. Orders will be issued shortly to officers to report, and coordinate and cooperate with ministers to ensure proper facilities such as food, water, toilets and electricity at flood relief camps, Minister for Irrigation and Flood Control Saurabh Bharadwaj said.PWD Minister Atishi will look after facilities at camps in the North East Delhi district, while Gopal Rai has been deputed for Shahdara, Kailash Gahlot for South East Delhi and Imran Hussain for the Central Delhi district, he said.

Bhutan Kurichhu dam has not led to severe flooding along the villages in Assam's Baksa and Chirang districts. Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani on Saturday met Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in Dhaka, following the full load commencement of power supply to Bangladesh from Adani Group’s Ultra Super-Critical Thermal Power Plant in Godda, India. The Godda USCTPP, which marks the Adani Group’s entry into transnational power projects, is India’s first commissioned transnational power project where 100% of the generated power is supplied to another nation, Adani Group said in a press statement. After the meeting, Gautam Adani tweeted: “Honoured to have met Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina on full load commencement and handover of the 1600 MW Ultra SuperCritical Godda Power Plant. I salute the dedicated teams from India and Bangladesh who braved COVID to commission the plant in a record time of three-and-a-half years.”Adani Power Jharkhand Ltd (APJL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Adani Power Ltd, completed the dependable capacity test for the Godda plant on 12 July. The dependable capacity test, a mandatory requirement under the power purchase agreement (PPA) with Bangladesh, was conducted over the stipulated period of six hours to evaluate the simultaneous functioning of both units of the plant after they began supplying electricity.

This project will also commence India’s first commissioned transnational power project where 100 per cent of the generated power is supplied to another nation.Adani Power Jharkhand Ltd (APJL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Adani Power Ltd, will supply 1,496 MW from the Godda USCTPP under the PPA with the Bangladesh Power Development Board, executed in November 2017 for a period of 25 years, via a 400 kV dedicated transmission system connected to the Bangladesh grid. The subsidiary completed the dependable capacity test for the Godda plant on 12 July.

Target FIVE Waters BURST Mumbai Mumbai police issues prohibitory order banning drones, gliders & unlawful gathering of five or more persons
Mumbai police on Saturday issued a preventive order banning the flying of drones, remote controlled micro light aircraft, paragliders, para motors, hand gliders and hot air balloons over the metropolis for a period of 30 days, an official said. The prohibitory order, which he said was a «regular» one, was in view of the possibility of misuse of such objects to target VVIPS, endanger life of public at large, destroy public property and cause law and order disturbance. The order also bans unlawful assemblies of five or more persons due to information gathered from various sources about the likelihood of breach of peace and disturbance to public tranquility from such gatherings, the official added. The prohibitory order covers processions, use of loudspeakers and other sound amplifying systems, musical bands and bursting of firecrackers, he said. However, marriage and funeral functions, statutory meeting of companies, clubs, and assemblies in and around cinemas, halls, schools etc are exempt, the official pointed out.

The government is considering a comprehensive scheme to promote coal gasification projects for both government public sector undertakings (PSUs) and the private sector with an outlay of Rs 6000 crore. The Ministry of Coal has set a target to achieve coal gasification of 100 Million Tonne (MT) coal by FY 2030 reflecting the government’s commitment to harnessing the power of coal gasification. “The proposal incorporates a comprehensive set of measures that capitalize on natural resources and demonstrate financial and technical feasibility of coal gasification. This initiative is set to meet the future energy needs of the country while stimulating other sectors,” said the Ministry of Coal in a release.

Himachal Pradesh has suffered losses of about Rs 8,000 crore as heavy rains wreaked havoc in the hill state, triggering landslides and flash floods and damaging roads and other infrastructure, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said on Saturday. According to the state emergency response centre, the losses amounted to about Rs 4,000 crore till Friday night and Sukhu had sought an interim relief of Rs 2,000 crore from the Union home ministry.
