The price of XRP has risen by as much as 8% in the past 24 hours, with the altcoin's move to $0.811954 making it the fourt-biggest cryptocurrency in the market in terms of cap, ahead of BNB.

cryptocurrency markets were trading mixed in Thursday's trade. XRP, Cardano, Tron, and Polygon were trading with gains, while Bitcoin, Ethereum, BNB, and Litecoin were trading with cuts. Bitcoin (BTC) fell 0.07% to $30,077, whereas Ethereum (ETH) was above the 1,900 level. BTC volume stood at approximately $11.45 billion, falling 16.25% in the last 24 hours. «BTC continues to perform within a narrow range of less than 2%, around $30k. In the last 24 hours, XRP continued to be amongst the top performers in terms of volumes and price change. Interestingly, XRP has surpassed the trading volumes of BTC on a majority of exchanges ever since the court ruling against SEC fell in its favor,» Shubham Hudda, Senior Manager at CoinSwitch Markets Desk, said. The total volume in DeFi is currently $1.97 billion, 6.5% of the total crypto market 24-hour volume. The volume of all stablecoins is now $27.21 billion, which is 89.66% of the total crypto market 24-hour volume.

After failing to sustain above the resistance of its narrow range, Bitcoin fell near a key support level on July 18. The consolidation of the past few days seems to be an accumulation phase, according to Glassnode’s Bitcoin Accumulation Trend Score. A similar score was seen during the accumulation phases between November and December and again from March to April.

United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) chair Gary Gensler has commented publicly about the last week’s ruling on the agency’s suit against Ripple. 

Speculations and discussions around the Ripple versus SEC lawsuit continue even after the fintech company secured a victory in recently-released summary judgment. 

The July 13 ruling on the suit filed by the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has led to unprecedented interest in the XRP token. In the few days since the court decision, a jump in XRP (XRP) trading has seen it surpass all other cryptos in monthly volume, according to Kaiko.

The next phase of the ‘SEC vs Ripple’ case is set to move forward as U.S. District Judge Analisa Torres of the Southern District of New York filed paperwork on July 17 referring the case to Magistrate Judge Sarah Netburn.

Bitcoin remains stuck inside a narrow range, making it difficult to predict the direction of the next possible breakout. The U.S. Dollar Index (DXY), which generally moves in inverse correlation to Bitcoin (BTC), dropped below 100, but that has failed to propel Bitcoin higher. This suggests that Bitcoin is charting its own course in the near term.
