In the central court of Milton Keynes shopping centre, across from Scrivens opticians and Lakeland cookware, the second-busiest job fair in Britain drew a small crowd one Friday this March. There were booths for fast-food chains McDonald’s and Greggs, as well as the nearby Aqua Parcs water park and Chevron, a traffic management company.
Goldman Sachs was there too. The blue-chip Wall Street bank was making its debut at the Milton Keynes job fair.
