As per the company’s official announcement, the Dusk Network testnet was launched on March 22, 2022, and was dubbed ‘Daybreak’. The testnet incorporated the elements that Dusk Network is known for, including zero-knowledge cryptography, permissionlessness, and large-scale decentralization.
The testnet launch also tapped heavily into the existing Dusk Network community. The management of Dusk has reiterated the importance of expert contributions to making the launch a success and has thus opened it up to its community.
There are two distinct roles that users can sign up for - node provisioner or using the block explorer. For those who sign up to be provisioners, their role will be to grow and decentralize the network. The Dusk Network has also explained that those with expertise and experience will be onboarded first as node provisioners and those with less experience will then follow.
