Santa Barbara County has charred nearly 18,000 acres since it began on July 5. Though there are worries that the fire may eventually move to more inhabited areas, it is now raging mostly in rural areas close to Los Padres National Forest, as reported by 'Fox Weather'. Conditions for fires have gotten worse due to the prolonged heat wave that is affecting the Western US and the dry weather. The area hasn't seen such extreme and protracted heat in 20 years, according to meteorologists from the National Weather Service. Although there isn't a drought in California right now, the state's parched vegetation and unrelenting heat make combating fires extremely difficult.
To battle the fire, firefighters are using both direct and indirect tactics, adjusting to the difficult terrain where direct approaches are impractical. Due to high temperatures that continue until midnight, Santa Barbara County Fire's Anthony Stornetta, the incident commander, stressed the fire's capacity to spread quickly even at night.

Images from Sycamore Valley Ranch, also referred to as Michael Jackson's Neverland Ranch, have surfaced. The 2,600-acre property, which was formerly a playground featuring amusement rides and a petting zoo, is still in danger, though it is unknown how near the fire is. The present owners are unsure about the property's future.
