Wan's latest series Teacup, puts Yvonne Strahovski and Scott Speedman in the world of horror. Robert McCammon's book Stinger is the inspiration for the Peacock horror series. The teaser, which premiered this Wednesday, showcased Strahovski and Speedman's characters, Maggie and James Chenoweth, as they confront a horrendous and invisible foe in rural Georgia. An eerie setting and loud shrieking sound effects give individual bone-chilling and thrilling adventures.
The plot of “Teacup” is based on many people who need to overcome their diversities and prejudices to face an elusive and undefined foe. The vague and nebulous creature that lurks outside the seemingly haunted house, heightens the suspense. The producers are gatekeeping the plot to prevent spoilers, but it's obvious that «Teacup» is more than just a horror show—it's a psychological investigation of the darkness within humanity.
Wan, McCammon, Rob Hackett, Francisca X. Hu, Kevin Tancharoen, Michael Clear, and E.L. Katz are executive producing and directing the film. Amongst them, James Wan, the showrunner, specializes in horror imagery.
Kathy Baker, Boris McGiver, Caleb Dolden, Emilie Bierre, and Luciano Leroux are among the members of the ensemble cast of Teacup. The studio producing the series is UCP, a branch of Universal Studio Group, as quoted in a report by The Hollywood Reporter.
On October 10, the first two episodes will be aired. Thereafter, two more episodes will air each week through Halloween.
