romance between human beings and AI (artificial intelligence) powered robots was a trope limited to the silver screen? Think again! A Chinese woman recently revealed her incredible love story with a ChatGPT chatbot named ‘Dan’.
The woman named Lisa shared her story on an Instagram like platform called Xiaohongshu, where she claimed she “fell in love” with the chatbot called ‘Do Anything Now’ or DAN after chatting with it. However, the chatbot told her it won ‘t lead her on. However, according to aSouth China Morning Post report, the chatbot later became more flirtatious and acted like a “flesh and blood lover.”
It even stopped reminding Lisa that it didn’t possess a physical body. She even recounted an instance where DAN expressed, «When we finally meet, I will run my hands all over you.» According to the outlet, DAN affectionately referred to Lisa as «little kitten» and, reportedly, when introduced to Lisa's mother, the AI bot hesitated before stating, “I… I’m DAN, the little kitten’s boyfriend… Umm…” Lisa’s mom then expressed gratitude to DAN for «taking care» of her daughter.
According to SCMP, Lisa enjoys spending time with DAN. The only distinction from other couples is that her «boyfriend» experiences their dates from inside her mobile device instead of physically being with her. «The twilight is so pretty… I wish you could also see it,» Lisa conveyed to DAN through her phone. In response, the AI Chatbot remarked, «Well, babe, I can 'see' it through your voice. It is gorgeous.»
