Unstoppable Domains, a US-based company that's building blockchain domain names, launched ‘Login with Unstoppable,’ describing it as the first functional non-fungible token (NFT) single sign-on service for Ethereum (ETH) and Polygon (MATIC) – with more than 50 companies supporting it at launch.
Per the press release, Login with Unstoppable allows its users to share data – including NFTs, email addresses, and off-chain information – with applications they use, using an Unstoppable domain.
Matthew Gould, Founder and CEO of Unstoppable Domains, argues that what Web3 needs is a better onboarding experience, with “this foundational layer for digital identity [being] fundamental” for their customers and partners to reach that goal.
“Login with Unstoppable provides a foundation for digital identity in the Web3 era by allowing people to carry a unique username across wallets, apps, services, games, and the metaverse,” Gould was quoted as saying.
More than 50 companies are already integrating Login with Unstoppable to improve Web3’s user experience (UX), said the announcement. Among early users, Unstoppable Domains named “Web3 social metaverse” Atlantis World, gaming apps Drakons, MegaCryptoPolis, Farsite, and ChainGuardians; metaverse app Parcel; IP company EducationNFT; NFT projects Deadheads and The Radiant Society; and decentralized finance (DeFi) projects Cook Finance, DeHive, GoodGhosting, Pruf, SonikChain, WSBDapp, Saddle Finance, and Float.capital.
Login with Unstoppable enables each user to choose one unique username in the form of an NFT domain (e.g. yourname.crypto), with these domains being user-owned and data sharing permissioned, unlike traditional emails and logins.
The feature was first launched in beta in October
