India vs England: From Sarfaraz Khan's fifties to Yashasvi Jaiswal's double tons, five records of 3rd test
India on Sunday crushed the visiting England team in the third test. In the process, several records were broken, from most number of sixes to India's biggest win in terms of runs. 1) First of all, India broke its own record for most sixes in a Test series by any team, touching a total of 48 big hits in the ongoing three-match series. The team went past its own tally of 47 sixes in three Tests against South Africa at home back in 2019, a series which had three Test matches. With two matches left, India could score a lot more sixes and outdo its previous record by a huge margin. 2) Debutant Sarfaraz Khan also created a record. He had a memorable debut in the international arena during the third Test against England, becoming the only fourth Indian to score twin half-centuries on Test debut. In the match, Sarfaraz played a highly-attacking game, taking the spinners to attack. In the first innings, he scored 62 in 66 balls, with nine fours and a six. In the second innings, he scored 68* in 72 balls, with six fours and three sixes.

India calls for preventing Afghan territory being used by LeT & Jaish
India at the 6th Regional Dialogue of Secretaries of Security Councils/National Security Advisers on Afghanistan, on Wednesday called for preventing Afghan territory from being used by the UNSC proscribed Lashkar-e-Tayyiba and Jaish-e-Mohammad. Cross-border terrorism was a key item on the agenda of the meet. Misri, according to sources, emphasised that Afghan territory should not be used for sheltering, training, planning or financing terrorist acts; specifically, terrorist individuals proscribed by the UN Security Council, including those belonging to the Lashkar-e-Tayyiba and Jaish-e-Mohammad. It is well established that any instability in Afghanistan is a threat to the whole region, he further noted. He also emphasised that India was and is an important stakeholder in Afghanistan and that it was imperative to have a ‘consensus’-based approach at both levels, regional and international.

ICC Rankings: Nabi ends Shakib's long reign as top ODI all-rounder, Bumrah maintains pole position
Afghanistan all-rounder Mohammed Nabi on Wednesday became the oldest player to headline the ICC ODI all-rounders' list, ending Shakib Al Hasan's long reign at the top. There is little to no change at the top of the Test rankings with India's Jasprit Bumrah firmly perched at the top of the bowlers' list. India's Ravindra Jadeja, who is set to return in the third Test against England beginning Thursday, still led the way comprehensively in Test all-rounders' rankings. Nabi reached the No.1 spot following his 136 during the opening match of Afghanistan's three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka, while the 39-year-old also picked up a wicket in the same contest to gain one place and move to seventh on the latest rankings for ODI bowlers.
