Apple iPhone 16 reaches stores without highly awaited AI features
Apple Inc. is facing an unprecedented challenge: persuading customers to buy its latest iPhones without their biggest new feature. On Friday, Apple is launching the iPhone 16 lineup in almost 60 countries, including the US, China, India, Australia and South Korea. But the device won’t come installed with Apple Intelligence — the much-anticipated AI software that the company has been touting since June. That means users will have to download the software features over time as they become available during the coming weeks and months. That’s put Apple in a tricky spot. It’s already marketing the AI features heavily, but some consumers may hold off on buying the new phones if they can’t enjoy the benefits right away. The new iPhone hardware, meanwhile, has only modest upgrades from prior models. A touch-sensitive Camera Control button that makes it easier to take pictures and video is the most notable change.

Gautam Gambhir, Virat Kohli open up about their faith in the divine
Gautam Gambhir and star batter Virat Kohli is not their tremendous records, but their on-field aggression and sheer passion for the game, which make them formidable opponents. Both Gambhir and Kohli may come across as tough players who have won many matches for India and are true inspirations for budding cricketers due to their various qualities. However, when it comes to drawing their inner strength in times of need, both turn to God or the divine. In an unconventional chat session shared by the BCCI on its official website, both stars of the game shared their experiences in a freewheeling conversation and opened up about their faith in God, which they both share.

After pager blasts, Chinese gear can come under heightened scrutiny
China accounts for nearly one-third of global exports of electronic devices, and Chinese-made devices have already been raising security concerns. Huawei, the Shenzhen-based Chinese telecom company, has for several years been at the centre of an intense technological rivalry between Beijing and Washington, with US officials warning its equipment could be used to spy on behalf of Chinese authorities, allegations that China has denied.

Instagram Launches New 'Teen Accounts' with Privacy Controls Amid Growing Concerns
Instagram announced tighter privacy settings for younger users on Tuesday. These restrictions include the requirement for ‘Teen Accounts’ and parental controls that limit what children can view. All Instagram accounts belonging to users under the age of 18 in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia will become ‘Teen Accounts’ within 60 days and be set to private by default. Besides other new privacy settings and limitations, the new account type, called Teen Accounts, will only allow messages from users they follow or are already connected to. It will also put users in sleep mode between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m. to encourage sleep, and it will give users access to the most restrictive tier of the app's settings for viewing sensitive content. Australians now have the right to disconnect. Can India expect the same?
However, Australia’s recent “right to disconnect” policy now offers a concrete legal cover to employees: after work hours, they can refuse any demand related to work from their boss. While the benefits and challenges of this policy are still being speculated, it is a great step to increase employee retention. Post actively on Facebook? Meta has fed its AI with all your posts since 2007
Meta has admitted that its artificial intelligence models have been fed with all of the text and images that adult Facebook and Instagram users have shared publicly since 2007. According to Australia's ABC News, Melinda Claybaugh, global privacy director at Meta, first denied allegations made during a local government investigation regarding the adoption of AI that user data from 2007 was being used for AI training. However, she eventually gave in to further interrogation. Senator David Shoebridge of the Green Party pressed for an investigation and said that the truth is that Meta has simply decided that you will scrape all of the photos and all of the texts from every public post on Instagram or Facebook since 2007 unless there was a conscious decision to set them on private.
