IPO Bayer performer testing recommendations gatherings Rate Cut Are the next 6 months good for a pre-election, pre-rate cut rally? Abhay Agarwal answers
Abhay Agarwal, Founder & Fund Manager, Piper Serica, says “we are seeing a lot of investors both in India and internationally under allocated on the risk assets, They are actually “desperately” looking to put on positions, get to a fair level of allocations. That is why we are seeing in the markets that anybody who did the hard work, stayed invested, used the downturn in the market to deploy capital, is finally getting rewarded. So it is a great reminder from the markets for all investors.” What a week has it been for a very long time. We have been spoiled by such massive gains in such a short period of time. This kind of a market makes all of us feel that we are great stock pickers and great participants in the market, does it not? We have been investing for 30 years and I am again reminded that long-term investors should learn to ignore the general market perspectives and market wisdom because not much ago, there was a lot of caution, lot of worry about the markets Michael Burry was putting on a big short and people said look, he is a very smart guy who made billions shorting the market. Crude prices had gone up and there was a worry that the Fed will increase rates and a lot of investors got under allocated to the markets at that point of time.

Provident Diablo show performer hospital play Red tape may play spoilsport at new year's eve parties
new year is unlikely to start with a bang in the national capital as most restaurants, pubs, and bars plan to keep things low key on the new year's eve due to various restrictions. “Most restaurants, pubs and bars in Delhi…are not planning any large-scale celebrations…because of the various administrative hassles in procuring multiple permissions and licenses,” said Sandeep Anand Goyle, who heads Delhi chapter of National Restaurant Association of India (NRAI). “Pubs, bars and nightclubs are allowed to operate till 1 am, but they are also sealed at times if decibels are beyond the prescribed limits,” he said. “With all the hassles, people don’t want to plan large-scale celebrations,” Goyle said, adding that the police seal crowd-generating areas and malls, and refrain restaurants from organising parties at their outlets. “Barricades are put on roads leading to markets, commercial complexes, and around the malls, creating hurdles for guests to reach them,” he said.

Progressive country guidelines Supreme Court upholds e-auction of India’s tallest tower Palais Royale, paves way for completion
Palais Royale, India’s tallest and one of the most expensive luxury towers that has been stuck in limbo for more than a decade, will finally see the light of the day following a Supreme Court order upholding the public e-auction by a secured lender to sell it. The judgement allows for the skyscraper’s completion and the subsequent handover of the Rs 15,000-crore project and its luxury apartments, each spread over more than 8,000 sq ft and priced Rs 65-70 crore. The project, started in 2007 and touted to be the most ambitious real estate project in the country, has faced numerous challenges over the last 10 years. Legal disputes and hurdles had cast a shadow over the 320-meter-high, 88-storey, tower, delaying its progress and raising concerns among investors and stakeholders. In 2010, the developer, Shree Ram Urban Infrastructure Ltd, availed of a Rs 900 crore loan from Indiabulls Housing Finance with this project as collateral. The erstwhile promoter of Shree Ram Urban also stood as personal guarantor to the loan. The project was pulled up by authorities for violations of building codes and permissions. The then promoter, Shree Ram Urban Infrastructure, had not made the alterations to conform to the civic authority’s guidelines and the authority went on to withhold permissions. This led to project delay, leaving many homebuyers in the lurch.

The recent resignation of University of Pennsylvania President Liz Magill was a rarity in higher education—outside forces had stormed up the ivory tower and dethroned a leader.
