Mangaluru International Airport (MIA) has introduced the automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) system, enabling seamless entry and exit of vehicles to and from the airport. The ANPR system uses e-payment technology like FASTag, which takes care of the payments for the end user, a release from MIA said on Saturday. The ANPR system reads the number plates of vehicles entering the airport through any of the four lanes at the entry booths.

Himachal Pradesh, that have been hit by natural calamities in their hour of crisis, Union Minister Anurag Thakur said on Saturday. The government is considering a comprehensive scheme to promote coal gasification projects for both government public sector undertakings (PSUs) and the private sector with an outlay of Rs 6000 crore. The Ministry of Coal has set a target to achieve coal gasification of 100 Million Tonne (MT) coal by FY 2030 reflecting the government’s commitment to harnessing the power of coal gasification. “The proposal incorporates a comprehensive set of measures that capitalize on natural resources and demonstrate financial and technical feasibility of coal gasification. This initiative is set to meet the future energy needs of the country while stimulating other sectors,” said the Ministry of Coal in a release.

The hottest temperature ever recorded in Death Valley was 56.6 degrees Celsius in July 1913, according to the park service. Other parks also have established warnings for hikers. Every year, over 1.1 million people visit the Death Valley National Park. The desert park is located across a portion of the California-Nevada border to the west of Las Vegas. Death Valley National Park, which spans over 13,848 square kilometers, is the largest national park in the lower 48 states excluding Alaska and Hawaii. Approximately one-fifth of the park's visitors arrive during June, July, and August. Many are enticed to explore the park, even beyond the recommended cutoff times. Engaging in physical activities under such extreme heat can make the conditions even more unbearable, leaving people feeling exhausted. Even after sunset, the sunbaked rocks, sand, and soil continue to radiate heat.
