G20 Summit 2023: The G20 Summit has entered its final day today i.e. on 10 September. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold various meetings with eight global leaders including French President Emmanuel Macron, Canadian PM Justin Trudeau, Comoros, Turkey, UAE, South Korea, etc.

G20 session towards the end of November to assess the recommendations and resolutions put forth during the recently concluded leaders' summit. Earlier on Saturday, US President Biden highlighted the significance of the India-Middle East-Europe Corridor and affirmed the United States' commitment to collaborating with its allies to support the development of sustainable and robust infrastructure while prioritizing high-quality infrastructure investments.

G20 Leaders' Summit hosted in the national capital, according to a report published by the news agency ANI. The Heads of State of countries including UAE, Bangladesh, Egypt, China, Australia, UK, Argentina, Indonesia, France, Germany, Netherlands, Turkey, Japan, Italy, Spain, South Africa, Republic of Korea, Canada and Singapore will depart from Delhi on Monday. The Central government has assigned responsibilities to Union Ministers of State to see off the foreign delegates after the summit.

Ukraine-Russia war. A consensus that had seemed elusive was achieved following hard bargaining and intense discussions among all G20 negotiating teams amid key meetings, ET has learnt. The need for consensus on the New Delhi Declaration that was adopted on Saturday had also figured in the meeting between US President Joe Biden and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in the Capital on Friday night. While India was in constant touch with Russia over the issue, external affairs minister S Jaishankar's meeting with Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov in Jakarta played an important role, ET has learnt. Over Friday and early Saturday, the Prime Minister held critical talks on the issue with visiting leaders.

Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva told world leaders Saturday the planet was facing an «unprecedented climate emergency» while addressing the G20 Summit in India. «The lack of commitment to the environment has led us to an unprecedented climate emergency,» said Lula at the two-day meeting in New Delhi. «Droughts, floods, storms and fires are becoming more frequent.» G20 leaders meet this weekend during what is likely the hottest year in human history, but hopes are slim that the divided grouping can agree ambitious action on the crisis. Any failure to do so could lower expectations ahead of crucial COP28 climate talks that begin in November in the United Arab Emirates. In July, G20 energy ministers failed to even mention coal in their final statement, let alone agree a phase down roadmap, and there was no progress on the renewables goal.

Leaders of the 20 biggest economies in the world — collectively known as G20 — are pushing for a speedy implementation of a cross-border framework for crypto assets.

Narendra Modi on Saturday announced the launch of the Global Biofuels Alliance. A total of 19 countries and 12 international organizations have so far agreed to join the alliance, including both G20 members and non-member countries. India, Brazil and the US are the founding members of the alliance.
