The Amul model should be tried across all agricultural crops in India

Having worked closely with the agrarian economy for over two decades now, I found the conclusions of this research paper published by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to be an affirmation of my frequent observations and pre-suppositions about general practices in the country’s agriculture sector. Creating essential market linkages and consolidating farmers under umbrella bodies should have helped solve much of that problem.

UK 2024: Rishi Sunak exits Downing Street, successor Keir Starmer revives hope for free trade agreement with India
Rishi Sunak surprised many within his own Conservative Party by calling an earlier-than-expected election on July 4 — exactly a month on from a third term win for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's National Democratic Alliance. This meant the FTA talks, having entered their 14th round of intense negotiations, slipped into a more uncertain phase until the new Labour Party-led government committed itself to «deepening our bilateral ties». «We agreed to raise the ambition of our UK-India comprehensive strategic partnership… Crucially, this work will start with trade and investment, and I am pleased to say that we agreed to relaunch Free Trade Agreement negotiations early in the new year,» said newly-elected British Prime Minister Keir Starmer after his first meeting with Modi on the sidelines of the G20 Summit in Brazil last month.

Was Daniel Craig’s final James Bond film, No Time To Die, the last one? The franchise that makes the iconic series is fighting for its survival
James Bond film. There have been rumours that the renowned James Bond series may be postponed indefinitely following months of conjecture over the upcoming film. Now, the franchise itself appears to be struggling for its own survival, much like the fictional British agent. Despite the fact that Daniel Craig's last Bond movie, No Time To Die, was released more than three years ago, it seems that a purported dispute between Amazon and producing partner Barbara Broccoli is keeping us from seeing the next Bond film, as quoted in a report by Metro. A few years ago, Amazon paid £6.4 billion to acquire Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studio, which gave them half of the rights to Bond.

5000 years old mystery solved: This is what scientists are saying about the origins of Britain's iconic Stonehenge
5,000-year-old marvel, have puzzled researchers. Now, new research from University College London and Aberystwyth University sheds new light on its purpose and the origins of its stones. According to the research, the massive stones of Stonehenge were sourced from far-reaching corners of Britain, including southwest Wales and northeast Scotland. This effort wasn’t just architectural but symbolic. Communities from these regions are believed to have transported their local stones to Wiltshire as a gesture of unity. Lead author Professor Mike Parker Pearson stated, “[Stonehenge was] a monument of unification for the peoples of Britain, celebrating their eternal links with their ancestors and the cosmos.” The study emphasizes the collaborative effort to create a shared identity across ancient Britain.

Images caught on Google Maps give police big clue in Spanish murder case
Google Maps cameras have captured some pretty interesting photos in the past, preserved on the mapping software for the world to find, but this time the images have given police an extra clue in the arrests of two people in connection with a murder investigation. The images in question were captured by a Google Maps car camera in October, in which a man can be seen hunched over the trunk of a car on a nearly deserted street in Spain, loading a large, bulky object wrapped in what appears to be a white sheet or bags.Police say they believe the object is tied to the death of a Cuban national living in Spain who was reported missing by a relative in late 2023.According to newspaper El País, the man had been living in the northern Spanish municipality of Soria, where he had turned up hoping to track down a woman believed to be his partner. The relative of the missing man contacted police, saying he’d received some suspicious text messages from the man’s phone saying he’d met another woman and would be leaving Spain and ditching his phone.“This made the complainant suspect that the messages had not been sent by the missing person and led him to report it to police,” police said in a statement.Last month, according to Reuters, a man and woman were initially arrested on suspicion of kidnapping. Bombshell report: U.S government knew Wuhan lab leak was responsible for Covid, but deliberately downplayed it
Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV) and EcoHealth Alliance. This effort aimed to collect and study 500,000 unknown viruses with the potential to infect humans, costing an estimated $3 billion. The project, co-led by EcoHealth's Peter Daszak and Wuhan’s Shi Zhengli, proceeded despite biosafety concerns and warnings about national security risks. New documents obtained by US Right to Know (USRTK) highlight these concerns just months before the Covid-19 outbreak. The Global Virome Project aimed to identify and experiment with 99% of undiscovered viruses that could jump from animals to humans. Supported by USAID and the US State Department from 2016 to 2019, the project also involved China’s Academy of Military Medical Sciences and Beijing Genomics Institute (BGI), a company later blacklisted by the Pentagon. The initiative faced scrutiny over transparency, data ownership, and potential national security threats, as the US and Chinese governments were warned about each other’s involvement.
