Gaza hospital airstrike reports are ‘unacceptable,’ Trudeau says
Gaza is not legal and is calling the situation “absolutely unacceptable.”Trudeau was responding to unfolding reports coming out of Gaza, where the Hamas-run Gaza Health Ministry said that an Israeli airstrike hit a hospital in Gaza City, killing hundreds of Palestinians, including people using the hospital as shelter.A spokesman for the Israeli military said on X, formerly known as Twitter, that the strike did not come from them.“From the analysis of the operational systems of the IDF, an enemy rocket barrage was carried out towards Israel, which passed through the vicinity of the hospital when it was hit,” the statement said. “According to intelligence information, from several sources we have, the Islamic Jihad terrorist organization is responsible for the failed shooting that hit the hospital.”Trudeau said in French, speaking to reporters on his way into the House of Commons, that “it’s not legal” to bomb a hospital.Trudeau has repeatedly said that wars have international rules that must be followed, and says Canada is working with allies to get a humanitarian corridor established so supplies can be brought into Gaza.Aid organizations are warning that the territory is near collapse, and Trudeau told reporters that hitting a hospital is “not acceptable.”The Health Ministry run by Hamas said at least 500 people had been killed in the hospital strike.Photos purportedly from al-Ahli Hospital shared widely on social video showed fire engulfing the building, widespread damage and bodies scattered in the wreckage.

Argentina vs Peru live streaming: When and where to watch FIFA 2026 World Cup qualifying match
Argentina will play Peru in FIFA 2026 World Cup qualifying match. If Lionel Messi plays at Peru, coach Lionel Scaloni might have to remove either Julián Alvarez or Lautaro Martinez from the lineup that beat Paraguay. Argentina's captain Lionel Messi has reunited with the Albiceleste squad for the internationals scheduled for October. However, the fitness of the seven-time Ballon d'Or winner remains uncertain. The 36-year-old Inter Miami forward has been absent from four of his club's last five matches due to a scar tissue issue. As Argentina entered the international break with a perfect record of two wins in South America's World Cup qualification tournament, Peru, on the other hand, only had one point to their name. World Cup qualifier for CONMEBOL between Argentina and Peru will be played at Estadio Nacional del Perú in Lima on Tuesday. The kick-off is scheduled at 10 pm (ET) or 7 pm (ET). Argentina vs Peru World Cup qualifier for CONMEBOL game will be live streamed on Fanatiz. The next World Cup in the United States, Mexico and Canada is expanding to a 48-team format, meaning direct entry to the top six teams in South America. The seventh-place team will contest an intercontinental playoff for a berth. World Cup winner Argentina leads continental qualifying with 9 points, followed by Brazil (7), Colombia (5), Uruguay, Chile and Venezuela (4), Ecuador (3), Paraguay and Peru (1), and Bolivia (0). The fourth match day in South American qualifying also features Ecuador against Colombia, Paraguay against Bolivia and Venezuela taking on Chile.

Pot industry calls for greater urgency in review of Cannabis Act
When Canada legalized recreational cannabis in 2018, there were still many unknown implications for healthcare, industry and the country at large. So the government made a promise: after three years, it would review the law to ensure its policies worked. But by the time the three-year mark arrived, the COVID-19 pandemic had diverted attention to more pressing public health concerns and a wave of cannabis companies desperate for changes to the legislation had already cut staff, consolidated or folded. The government review was finally launched in September 2022, and an initial report was released last week that summarizes what the panel heard from industry, health care and community groups.

Why India must bid for the 2036 Olympics
India should bid to host the 2036 Olympic Games. It would boost urban and sports infrastructure and enhance India’s collective interest in athletic excellence, besides giving a boost to economic activity and tourism in particular. The key to making the Olympics a financial and economic success is detailed planning on where to hold the games, how to integrate the residences, offices and sports facilities built for the event into India’s infrastructure, and how to finance the games without adding much to the government’s spending.
