The threats via microblogging platform X came a day after three international flights originating from Mumbai received bomb threats, causing trouble to hundreds of passengers and airline crew. The messages posted on Monday were declared a hoax. Two more flights received similar threats on Tuesday but a confirmation was awaited. The sources said an X handle issued threats on Tuesday to five flights — an Air India Express flight from Jaipur to Bengaluru via Ayodhya (IX765), a SpiceJet flight from Darbhanga to Mumbai (SG116), an Akasa Air flight from Bagdogra to Bengaluru (QP 1373), an Air India flight from Delhi to Chicago (AI 127) and an Indigo flight from Dammam (Saudi Arabia) to Lucknow (6E 98).

The report reveals how that double-digit inflation is causing the rise in healthcare expenses. The index revealed that 23 per cent of hospital costs are funded through borrowings, adding financial strain on families. With 62 percent of healthcare expenses paid out of pocket, the report emphasised the need for improved health coverage to protect individuals from unexpected health crises. The report identified Delhi as having the highest health insurance claims for kidney disease in India, followed by Kochi. «Delhi is the capital for kidney disease, followed by Kochi. Delhi NCR had the highest share of claims related to kidney health. Kochi, Secunderabad, Bengaluru & Jaipur's share of claims was above the National average,» the index report stated. It noted that the average age of patients with kidney issues is 47, and the largest bill filed for kidney-related problems reached Rs 24,73,894.

Union Minister of State for Ayush (Independent Charge) Prataprao Jadhav on Thursday announced that the National Exit Test (NExT) for Ayush will be effective for the students of 2021-22 academic session batch onwards. The decision was taken on the recommendations of a committee set up in this regard to review the concerns of the students in this matter, Jadhav said during a press briefing. The committee has recommended that the NExT will be applied to the students enrolled in the 2021-22 academic session under the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM) and the National Commission for Homoeopathy (NCH) Acts, 2020, removing any ambiguity in its implementation. The committee was presided by Vice Chancellor, National Institute of Ayurveda, Jaipur, Professor Sanjeev Sharma, who was responsible for reviewing the suggestions from the students and submitting the recommendations to the ministry.

Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Monday said 97.96 per cent of the Rs 2000 denomination banknotes have returned to the banking system, and only Rs 7,261 crore worth of the withdrawn notes are still with the public. On May 19, 2023, the RBI announced the withdrawal of Rs 2000 denomination banknotes from circulation. The total value of Rs 2000 banknotes in circulation, which was Rs 3.56 lakh crore at the close of business on May 19, 2023, when the withdrawal of Rs 2000 banknotes was announced, has declined to Rs 7,261 crore at the close of business on August 30, 2024, the RBI said. «Thus, 97.96 per cent of the Rs 2000 banknotes in circulation as on May 19, 2023, has since been returned,» it said in a statement.
