Russia’s Backdoor for Battlefield Goods From China: Central Asia
SINGAPORE—Two years after the invasion of Ukraine, drones and U.S.-made computer chips are increasingly flowing to Russia from China through Central Asian trade routes, showing the difficulty of strangling supplies to Moscow’s war effort. Trade routes snaking through former Soviet republics Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan are among the many paths into Russia for so-called dual-use goods—singled out by the U.S. and its allies because they can be used on the battlefield.

Moscow offers Indian tourists high-tech, accessible, and comfortable environment: Moscow City Tourism Committee
Moscow has long established itself not only as a business hub, but also as a leisure destination and the city offers a high-tech, accessible, and comfortable environment for every tourist, according to Bulat Nurmukhanov, Head of the International Cooperation Division of the Moscow City Tourism Committee. The increasing interest in Moscow as a tourist destination has lent additional impetus to developing more attractive infrastructure offerings for tourists. As of today, Moscow offers a wide range of services and various events that may be of interest to visitors from India – from purely business activities to cultural events. “Before the pandemic, tourist traffic from India was growing at 12-15 percent annually. Now we are on the way to recovery — all the necessary conditions have been created for this. Thus, Moscow was visited by 24.5 million tourists in 2023, of which 2.3 million were international tourists. In comparison, in 2019 the figure was 25.1 million tourists, with over 600,000 in the summer alone,” Nurmukhanov told ET.

Putin warns West of risk of nuclear war, says Moscow can strike Western targets
Vladimir Putin warned Western countries on Thursday that there was a genuine risk of nuclear war if they sent their own troops to fight in Ukraine, and he said Moscow had the weapons to strike targets in the West. Addressing parliament and other members of the country's elite, Putin, 71, repeated his accusation that the West is bent on weakening Russia, and he suggested Western leaders did not understand how dangerous their meddling could be in what he cast as Russia's own internal affairs. He prefaced his warning with a specific reference to an idea, floated by French President Emmanuel Macron on Monday, of European NATO members sending ground troops to Ukraine — a suggestion that was quickly rejected by the United States, Germany, Britain and others.

Germany and Poland say they're not sending troops to Ukraine as the Kremlin warns of a wider war
Germany and Poland affirmed Tuesday that they would not be sending troops to Ukraine, after reports that some Western countries may be considering doing so as the war with Russia enters its third year. The head of NATO also said the U.S.-led military alliance has no plans to send troops to Ukraine, after other central European leaders confirmed that they too would not be providing soldiers. The Kremlin, meanwhile, warned that a direct conflict between NATO and Russia would be inevitable if the alliance sends combat troops. «In this case, we need to talk not about probability, but about the inevitability (of conflict),» Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters.
