Metallica postpones Arizona concert: Here’s what happened
Metallica has delayed its second night of the M72 World Tour concert in Arizona as James Hetfield, the lead singer, contracted COVID-19. The renowned metal band had its first performance at Glendale's State Farm Stadium on September 1. They informed their fans through social media the next day that the Sunday, September 4 show would be rescheduled due to Hetfield's positive COVID-19 test. In their message on X (formerly Twitter), Metallica shared a photo of Hetfield's positive test and said, «We're very sorry to report that tomorrow's scheduled M72 date at State Farm Stadium has been postponed to Saturday, September 9, 2023, as, unfortunately, COVID has caught up with James. We're extremely disappointed and regret any inconvenience this has caused you; we look forward to returning to complete the M72 No Repeat Weekend in Glendale next Saturday.» During their opening show at State Farm Stadium on Friday, Metallica faced challenges as Hetfield experienced vocal problems, according to the Arizona Republic. The band also cut their set short by removing «The Day That Never Comes» and «Master of Puppets.» Despite the concert postponement, other events under the M72 Weekend Takeover in Phoenix were still set to proceed on Saturday and Sunday, according to Metallica's statement. These events included a tribute show, pop-up shops, whiskey tastings, and more. Following their rescheduled show in Arizona, Metallica will headline the Power Trip fest on October 8 in Indio, California. The next M72 Weekend Takeover is scheduled for November 3 and 5 at St. Louis' Dome at America's Center.

Who is Lisa Franchetti? Know about the female admiral picked by Biden to lead US Navy
Biden has chosen Admiral Lisa Franchetti as the Navy's highest-ranking officer. If confirmed, she will make history as the first woman to hold this position in the Navy and the first woman to be part of the joint chiefs of staff. Last month, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin suggested Adm. Samuel Paparo, the current commander of the Navy's Pacific Fleet, to President Biden for the post. However, Biden decided to nominate Paparo for U.S. Indo-Pacific Command instead. As per AP report, a senior official revealed that based on her extensive experience at sea and ashore, including various high-level policy and administrative roles, President Biden selected Adm. Lisa Franchetti to lead US Navy. The official reportedly also revealed that this choice reflects her deep knowledge of budgeting and effectively managing the department.

A heat wave will cook an electric car battery, if you let it
Consider it ironic, or at least a little poetic: Electric vehicles, great for combating climate change, don’t do well in extreme heat. It’s a paradox being thrown into relief as multiple United States states bake under heat waves that are becoming more frequent and more intense.
