UPS Citi Parke beautiful jazz Boardwalk Lake Champlain, Green Mountains: Here's how you should spend your 36 Hours in Burlington, Vermont
Lake Champlain and framed by the Green Mountains and New York's Adirondacks, Burlington — Vermont's most populous city, at just under 45,000 residents — draws visitors for its natural beauty, farm-to-table food scene and progressive sensibility. Among the longtime producers and makers (many of whom appear at the city's Saturday farmers market, which relocated in recent years), Burlington has a crop of new bars, cafes and wellness experiences, including a lakefront sauna. The city is also a jumping-off point to discover gems in neighboring Addison County, and to explore the Lake Champlain region, which is an almost sacred experience in fall, when the landscape unfurls into a spectacular temple. ITINERARYFriday 4 p.m. | Taste autumn in a cone Ben & Jerry's may be synonymous with Vermont, but it isn't the only place to grab a cone. Down the street from City Hall Park, look for the Italian flag that marks Shy Guy Gelato. Paul Sansone, an owner and native Vermonter, has churned gelato here since 2016, after learning the craft in Italy. Six flavors change daily, and autumnal favorites may include cider doughnut or sweet potato crunch. Take your cone ($6) and follow Maple Street, dotted with historic homes, to Perkins Pier, where a view of Lake Champlain and New York's Adirondack Mountains, about 12 miles across the lake, greets you. From there, walk 10 minutes north on the 8-mile Burlington Greenway — a bicycle and walking path initiated in 1985 by Bernie Sanders, who was then the mayor — to Waterfront Park, where visitors stroll the boardwalk and enjoy lakefront views.

COST Waters Fighting Yellow country World losing high-stakes fight against alien species
Invasive species that wreck crops, ravage forests, spread disease, and upend ecosystems are spreading ever faster across the globe, and humanity has not been able to stem the tide, a major scientific assessment said Monday. The failure is costing well over $400 billion dollars a year in damages and lost income — the equivalent to the GDP of Denmark or Thailand — and that is likely a «gross underestimation», according to the intergovernmental science advisory panel for the UN Convention on Biodiversity (IPBES). From water hyacinth choking Lake Victoria in East Africa, to rats and brown snakes wiping out bird species in the Pacific, to mosquitoes exposing new regions to Zika, yellow fever, dengue and other diseases, the report catalogued more than 37,000 so-called alien species that have taken root — often literally — far from their places of origin. That number is trending sharply upward, along with the bill for the damage multiplying fourfold per decade, on average, since 1970. Economic expansion, population increase and climate change «will increase the frequency and extent of biological invasions and the impacts of invasive alien species,» the report concluded. Only 17 percent of countries have laws or regulations to manage this onslaught, it said. Whether by accident or on purpose, when non-native species wind up on the other side of the world, humans are to blame. The spread of species is hard evidence that the rapid expansion of human activity has so radically altered natural systems as to tip the Earth into a new geological epoch, the Anthropocene, scientists say. The hyacinth that at one point covered 90 percent of Lake Victoria — crippling transport, smothering aquatic life, blocking hydroelectric dam intake and

Citi Art performer country classical singer Wynonna Judd’s Back to Wy Tour: Here’s all you may want to know
Wynonna Judd, the country singer, is embarking on a solo tour featuring her initial two albums, a PEOPLE report said. The Back to Wy theater tour is scheduled to begin on October 26 and will span 15 cities. Judd, who has been touring since 1983, expressed her enthusiasm for live performances. Having recently concluded The Judds tribute tour, she aims to reconnect with fans and commemorate her 40 years in country music. Her debut self-titled album, released in 1992, marked her transition to a solo career after performing with her mother as The Judds. In 1993, she followed with Tell Me Why. This shift was reminiscent of her personal journey when leaving home for college. She reminisces about the pressure to succeed and represent her family name. Judd, now 59, acknowledges that the pressure has eased, allowing her to enjoy performing and connect with fans. She emphasizes her reliance on fans since her mother's passing. The tour is an opportunity for Judd to perform songs she's never sung live and to honor her mother with emotionally charged performances. The 15-city tour starts on October 26 in Indianapolis and concludes on December 1 in Knoxville. Judd will perform both albums in their entirety, concluding each night with classic Judds hits. Pre-sale tickets are available to her fan club on August 22, followed by general sales on August 25.

UPS Action Remark LEH country RSS-BJP placing their own people in key parts of institutional structure: Rahul Gandhi
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has alleged that the RSS-BJP are placing their own people in key parts of the institutional structure of the country and even ministers have to work with RSS people to make decisions in their respective ministries. Gandhi made the claim during an interaction with youngsters at an event in Leh on Friday. «The foundation of freedom in India is the Constitution. The Constitution is a set of rules and you set the constitution into action by setting up institutions which support the vision of the Constitution — the Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha, Planning Commission, the forces, all these elements,» he said. What the BJP-RSS are doing is placing their own people in key parts of the institutional structure, he alleged. «For example, if you go to the ministers of the government of India and ask them 'if you are actually making the decisions in your ministries'? They will tell you that there is a gentleman from the RSS who we have to work with to decide what happens in our ministry,» he claimed.
