Congress has complained to the Election Commission of India of ads being placed strategically within Marathi language television serials to promote the Mahayuti campaign. One Marathi television channel has been running the ads since yesterday which show a hoarding of the Shiv sena campaign slogan after a particular scene in the serial. General secretary of the Maharashtra Congress Sachin Sawant complained to the State Election Commission about the placement of the ads. “ In serials after a particular scene is over it cuts to a different scene but here they have shown a road with a hoarding put up by the Shiv Sena on the road. This is blatant paid ads and it is not accidental as it has happened in all the serials running in the particular entertainment channel.”said Sawant to ET. Sawant has approached the State Election Commission officials to take action against those involved. “ Firstly an FIR needs to be filed against the channel as well as the Shiv Sena(shinde) which has inserted these ads blatantly. Secondly it's clear that the channel has taken money to place these ads so an Economic Offence should also be registered against those involved.”said Sawant.

Emaar India, the local arm of Dubai's Emaarproperties, is expected to achieve pre-sale of Rs 5,000 crore in FY 24-25 as it has entered into the next phase of expansion in India, Kalyan Chakrabarti, CEO of Emaar India, told ET. In the current financial year, it has sold commercial plots worth Rs 500 crore and a holiday home project in Alibaug, which will generate revenue of Rs 700 crore. It is expecting another Rs 2,500 crore from a project in Gurgaon while another smaller project will be launched later this year. “We will continue to expand in other cities but Gurgaon will be our main market for next few years. The projects that are getting launched, are receiving good response from the buyers and we are self sufficient to execute projects,” said Chakrabarti.

While opposing the proposal to allocate spectrum to Satcom players without auction, Jio said that Elon Musk-owned Starlink and Amazon's Kuiper combined Satcom bandwidth is more than the capacity built by all three leading Indian telecom operators over the years. «Assignment through the auction will provide an opportunity for Indian entities to directly compete with foreign entities, who have blocked First come First Served based ITU (International Telecommunication Union) priority list, and plan their own constellation. In the absence of clarity and certainty of spectrum assignment/priority, no Indian entity will ever be able to launch its own NGSO ( non-geostationary orbit) constellation,» Jio said.

On November 4, the top court agreed to consider listing for hearing the PIL that raised concerns about the safety and longevity of bridges in Bihar after several of them collapsed in recent months. The plea is likely to be heard on November 18.
