Happy Children's Day 2024: Here are wishes and quotes for Children's Day
Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. Nehru, fondly known as «Chacha Nehru» by children, strongly advocated for children's education and development. He believed they were crucial to India's future. After his death in 1964, the Indian Parliament declared his birthday as Children's Day, replacing the UN's Universal Children's Day on November 20th. Children's Day serves as a reminder of the importance of providing a safe and fulfilling childhood for all children, regardless of background. This includes access to basic necessities like shelter, education, healthcare, and sanitation.

Shami makes quiet comeback as Bengal struggle vs MP
Mohammed Shami returned wicket-less from his 10 overs in a subdued comeback to competitive cricket after 360 days as Bengal struggled in their Ranji Trophy Group C game against Madhya Pradesh here on Wednesday. Electing to field first, MP were 103/1 at stumps after bowling out Bengal for 228 in their first innings. The visitors need an outright win to keep their slim quarterfinal hopes alive. Bengal's attack is depleted by injuries to Ishan Porel and Rishav Vivek, while Mukesh Kumar and Akash Deep are on national duty. All eyes are now on Shami to not only prove his fitness but also rejuvenate his state team's campaign. Bowling on the Holkar Stadium green-top, the 34-year-old Shami, who was sidelined with an Achilles tendon injury on his left leg for which he underwent a surgery, returned figures of 10-1-34-0.

Trump’s return to the White House, chief economic adviser (CEA) V Anantha Nageswaran said on Wednesday, cautioning against any “kneejerk reaction” to the current bout of stock market volatility. The CEA was in conversation with economist Prachi Mishra at the ET India Ascends event. While capital has flooded into the US markets over the past week in the aftermath of Trump’s victory, “I'm not entirely sure that this will sustain over a very long term,” he said. “Because even before this election happened, US stocks were somewhat elevated in valuation, etc., and the Federal Reserve is cutting interest rates. So I think we can give some time for the financial markets to take a breath….”
