The heatwave that began in May and continues to affect day to day life in the central and eastern states of the US has already killed many others in Mexico. According to the scientists, this was made 35 times more likely because of anthropogenic factors causing climate change. Human induced activities such as burning of fossil fuels has caused this issue. In neighboring Mexico, this heatwave has already killed 125 people and led to thousands of heatstroke cases. There is bad news as this heatwave like conditions will only intensify if human induced activities do not reduce, according to scientists. engineering goods export to the US continues to decline, the Indian government has agreed to study the possibility of signing an FTA (free trade agreement) with Mexico as several US companies, including Tesla, have set up manufacturing bases there. Indian industry wants to access the US market by having an FTA with Mexico as the US is the top destination for India’s engineering exports. Pankaj Chadha, senior vice chairman, Engineering Export Promotion Council (EEPC) said, “Most of the USA’s manufacturing has shifted to Mexico, including Tesla’s new plant. And the only way for India to increase our engineering goods export to the USA is to have an FTA with Mexico.” EEPC, a body affiliated with the commerce ministry, represents one fourth of India’s engineering exports, while engineering goods account for 25% of the merchandise exports from India.

The «Immigrant Healthcare Index» by Remitly, based on data from the Migration Policy Institute (MPI) and the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, reveals that 16% of the 34.17 lakh registered nurses in the US are immigrants. Filipinos lead this category with 1.41 lakh registered nurses, representing 26% of the immigrant nurse population. Indian nurses follow with 32,000 (6%), and Nigerians with 24,000 (5%). California, Nevada, and New Jersey are the top states for immigrant nurses.
