Donny van de Beek completes loan move to Eintracht Frankfurt from Manchester United
Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek has finalized his temporary transfer to Eintracht Frankfurt, sealing the deal until the culmination of the ongoing season. The move includes an enticing option for the Bundesliga club to transform the loan into a permanent acquisition, extending beyond the current season. The 26-year-old Dutch international has encountered limited opportunities at Manchester United since his transition from Ajax in September 2020, featuring merely six times as a starter in the Premier League. His sole appearance this season involved a late substitution during a 1-0 loss to Crystal Palace in September.

The ongoing floods this week prompted evacuations in parts of northern and central Germany, but a dry weather forecast for Thursday offered some relief. Nevertheless, concerns persisted as water levels continued to rise in parts of Lower Saxony state in the northwest. In Dresden, the Elbe River reached nearly 4 meters (13 feet) above its normal level, reported the German news agency dpa. Downstream, the Pretziener Wehr, a flood barrier dating back to the 1870s and renovated in 2010, was opened for the first time since the major floods in 2013. The objective was to divert approximately a third of the river's water into a 21-kilometer (13-mile) channel, bypassing the town of Schoenebeck and the state capital, Magdeburg, in Saxony-Anhalt.

'Doesn't augur well for security of this area': Defence expert concerned over 'drone attack' on cargo vessel off Indian coast
drone attack on an Indian cargo vessel on the high seas, defence expert Wg Cdr (retd) Praful Bakshi on Sunday said the incident marks a security concern for the country and the entire world as the ship came under fire in an 'innocent area' outside the conflict zone. Speaking on Sunday, the former Indian Air Force (IAF) officer said the suspected drone strike spells concern as it was carried out within the Exclusive Economic Zone of the subcontinent and there were several Indians on board the vessel. «It is very surprising because now you can see the action that was going on around Israel and Gaza, the Red Sea, etc., is now spilling over into the Arabian Sea. That doesn't augur well for the security of this area.
