(Reuters) -Juul Labs said on Monday it has raised about $1.3 billion in funding, months after the e-cigarette maker revealed plans to lay off about 250 people in a bid to reduce its operating costs.

A father-son team of advisors who had managed $180 million in assets at Ameriprise Financial has joined LPL Financial’s employee advisor channel, Linsco by LPL Financial, the firm announced Monday.

Crypto news site The Block has been sold to venture capital group Foresight Ventures in a $70 million deal.

The United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has filed claims of fraud and securities violations against Terraform Labs. Together with the company's co-founder, Do Kwon, Terraform Labs is vigorously pursuing a dismissal of these charges from a U.S. District Court. The legal representatives for Kwon and Terraform Labs argued in a document that was submitted on October 27 to the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York that the cryptocurrencies Terra Classic (LUNC), TerraClassicUSD (USTC), Mirror Protocol (MIR), and mirrored assets (mAssets) are not securities as asserted by the SEC. The document was filed in response to the SEC's claim that the cryptocurrencies are securities.

United Airlines will not restart flights to Tel Aviv, Israel from Newark, New Jersey on Nov. 24, its spokesperson said on Monday, apologizing for the news on resumption of service, which it attributed to an error by its public relations agency. Several media organizations, including Reuters, had earlier reported the service restart based on the statement from the airline's PR agency.

Thanksgiving just knocking on the door, the United States is likely to witness more than 55 million travelers and the travel sector making a good business, a forecast by AAA reveals. According to Senior Vice President of AAA Travel, Paula Twidale, they are expecting a large number of travelers who would be gathering to meet their close families and loved ones and every year, travel has been becoming stronger. Paula Twidale said that compared to last year (2022), this year they are expecting the airports, roads, and sea ports to be busy with heavy footfall. However, AAA predicts that this year, most of the travelers will take the road and travel by car which is good news as they hope that the prices will be less compared to last year. According to AAA's forecast, November 21 and 22 will be the busiest and travelers will have to spend more if they are taking a flight. However, after the Thanksgiving holiday on November 26 or 27, people will be returning and so a large crowd is again expected at the airports.
